The Hamilton Ventura Edge Dune and Ventura XXL Bright Dune are two limited-edition watches inspired by the Fremen “Desert Watch” made for Dune: Part Two. Their key differences are how they display the time, their dimensions and water-resistance ratings. Hamilton lists both as past collection, so current availability depends on dealers and the secondary market.

Hamilton lists both as quartz watches with black PVD-coated stainless-steel cases and sapphire crystals. The dimensions make each a substantial-looking design on paper; individual comfort and fit depend on the wearer.
Display: digital time or illuminated dial lines
Ventura Edge Dune: blue-lit digital display
The Edge presents the time digitally and illuminates blue when activated. Hamilton’s instruction manual describes its operation this way: “Your Hamilton Ventura Edge Dune watch features a special push-button which lights up time on demand.” The manual confirms on-demand illumination, but does not establish battery life or illumination duration.
Ventura XXL Bright Dune: blue lines on a black dial
The XXL Bright retains a black dial, with blue lines that illuminate when the button on the left side of the case is pressed. Hamilton says the lines echo the film’s Desert Watch design and describes the luminous blue as a reference to the Fremen’s blue eyes. This is a dial-based visual treatment rather than the Edge’s digital display.

Size, thickness and water resistance
The XXL Bright is slightly larger across its listed case dimensions—52 × 48 mm versus the Edge’s 51 × 47 mm—but it is thinner at 11.8 mm compared with 13.8 mm. Both measurements indicate large-format watches, but they do not establish how either model will sit on a particular wrist.
The ratings also differ: Hamilton lists the Edge at 10 bar (100 m) and the XXL Bright at 5 bar (50 m). These are manufacturer specifications, not a complete recommendation for a particular water activity; consult Hamilton’s guidance for the watch and its condition before exposing it to water.

Film inspiration, not the screen prop
Hamilton says it worked with Dune: Part Two prop master Doug Harlocker on the Fremen device created for the film. The Ventura Edge and XXL Bright translate selected visual ideas from that prop into commercial watches; they are not the fictional device itself. Hamilton’s brand history dates the Ventura to 1957 and describes it as the world’s first battery-powered watch.

Hamilton marks both Dune models as past collection. That status does not establish that no dealer or private seller has an example, but it does mean Hamilton’s product pages should not be read as confirmation of current stock. The production counts—2,000 Edge pieces and 3,000 XXL Bright pieces—are edition quantities, not remaining-inventory figures.
