The Daniel Roth Tourbillon Rose Gold, reference DAAD01A1, is the second watch in the revived Daniel Roth line. What the Tourbillon Rose Gold is
Fratello identifies the DAAD01A1 as the follow-up to the yellow-gold Tourbillon Souscription, the first release in the revived line. The Rose Gold retains the double-ellipse case and tourbillon display, but changes the metal, dial treatment and caseback. The report frames the case shape as a modernized version of a Daniel Roth design introduced in the late 1980s.
Case and dial: the double ellipse in rose gold
Fratello lists an 18K rose-gold case measuring 35.5 mm wide, 38.6 mm lug-to-lug and 9.2 mm thick. It describes the case as having downward-angled lugs and a flank ridge positioned toward the middle. The report’s author says the proportions and fit impressed the Fratello team members who tried it on; that is a hands-on impression, not a universal fit assessment.
The 18K rose-gold dial has linear guilloché, black hands and Roman numerals. Applied sterling-silver chapters and scales, plus unique numbered engravings, add detail to the dial. The tourbillon cage doubles as the seconds display: its three hands track seconds against three 20-second scales. Fratello’s author praises how those scales integrate visually with the hours and minutes display.

How it differs from the Tourbillon Souscription
Fratello’s comparison highlights distinct design choices between the two releases. The Tourbillon Souscription is yellow gold, with a different guilloché treatment and blue hands and markers; the Rose Gold uses a rose-gold case and dial, linear guilloché, and black hands and Roman numerals. The author prefers the newer model’s color and black hands, a subjective aesthetic judgment rather than a performance finding.
The caseback is another visible distinction: the Rose Gold has a sapphire display back, while Fratello describes the Souscription’s caseback as solid gold. The report does not provide a complete current buying comparison or confirm either watch’s present availability.

DR001 movement and what the display back reveals
Fratello reports that the hand-wound DR001 was developed by LVMH master watchmakers Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini for the new gold double-ellipse case. The source says development, production, decoration and manual finishing took place at La Fabrique du Temps. Through the sapphire caseback, the wearer can see the movement.
The report lists a 60-second tourbillon, 21,600 vibrations per hour, 19 jewels and an 80-hour power reserve. The stated functions are hours, minutes and small seconds via the tourbillon. These are specifications as reported by Fratello, not independently corroborated here.
