The movement is a widely used third-party calibre, but the available sources provide no independent test results for this particular watch. How does it wear?
Cross described the 41 mm watch as wearable even on his slimmer wrist. He found the ocean-plastic strap similar in feel to ordinary fabric and not scratchy, but cautioned that the 12.9 mm case height could bump into things. Those are one reviewer’s observations, not a guarantee of fit or comfort on every wrist.
The 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement gives a useful additional fit reference alongside case diameter. If you are considering a used example, compare those dimensions with a watch that fits you well; wrist shape and strap adjustment also affect how a watch sits.

Is it suitable for diving?
T3 reports 200 m water resistance, also expressed as 20 ATM by the Indie Watches specification listing. That rating is a published specification, not confirmation that a particular watch remains safe to dive with. It does not establish the condition of seals, whether the case has been opened, or the maintenance history of a used example. Have a pre-owned watch checked by a qualified watchmaker before relying on it in water.
What is the strap width, and can it be replaced?
Indie Watches lists the strap as 20 mm wide, which is a useful starting point when looking for a replacement strap. That listing does not confirm the lug attachment, whether the watch accepts standard straps, or whether official Detrash replacements are available. Check the actual watch’s lug width and attachment before ordering.

What was the reviewer’s verdict?
Cross called it “A cool timepiece with a conscience; a dive watch with a difference, this watch is made to do some good while also looking good.” That is the reviewer’s framing, not an independently verified environmental conclusion. At the £380 price reported in 2024, he saw it as appealing to buyers interested in its material story, while noting that the affordable dive-watch category was crowded and Detrash had less name recognition than larger brands.
