The watch is the Deep Diver Legacy Edition, reference 39500-21-3266-6CX, a 2025 collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and Bamford Watch Department. It pairs a titanium case with a bright orange, white and blue dial, a date display and an internal rotating bezel.

Specifications and the edition size are listed by Girard-Perregaux and Bamford Watch Department. The inner bezel turns in both directions and is operated by a locking crown; the date sits at 3 o’clock.
How does the Deep Diver wear?
The cushion-shaped case is wider than it is tall on paper, but its 13.91 mm thickness and broad, colorful dial give it a more substantial visual presence than the 38 mm figure alone might suggest. Fratello reviewer Michael Stockton says it wears larger than its dimensions imply, while also noting that a person with a small wrist can wear it. He credits the titanium case and flexible rubber strap with helping the watch feel balanced. Those are his subjective impressions, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist.

Stockton also reports a slight legibility compromise: the orange-tinted luminous hands can blend into the orange parts of the dial. The dial’s unusual color blocking is the point of the design, but it is worth considering if quick, high-contrast reading matters more to you than visual character. What connects it to the historic Deep Diver?
Girard-Perregaux traces the Deep Diver to reference 9108, introduced in 1969. The original paired a cushion-shaped case with the brand’s Gyromatic bidirectional automatic-winding system and a 14-facet bezel; the manufacturer identifies the red dial and faceted bezel as defining design cues. The modern edition borrows from that heritage, but it does not use Gyromatic: its movement is the GP03300 automatic caliber.

Launch coverage by Hodinkee connects the current dial to a 1971 Deep Diver example, while the case’s 14-facet inspiration reaches back to the 1969 reference. The twin-crown arrangement and internal bezel also evoke the look of vintage super-compressor divers. That is a design resemblance, not a claim about the case mechanism: Fratello explicitly says this watch is not a Super Compressor. The Deep Diver suits someone who wants a compactly measured but visually assertive luxury diver, appreciates vintage design cues and values a titanium case and a distinctive internal bezel. Its strongest appeal is the contrast between familiar heritage references and an unapologetically vivid dial. The limited 350-piece run establishes production quantity, but it does not by itself establish sales demand or future collectability.

George Bamford, founder of Bamford Watch Department, described the collaboration as “an amazing honour” and said the team was invited to bring its own Bamford style to Girard-Perregaux’s emblematic Deep Diver. That spirit is visible in the dial and strap colors; whether their boldness is a draw or a drawback is a matter of taste.
