The IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Ceratanium (IW395505) uses a press-and-turn bezel to set a selected city’s local time. Its 46 mm black Ceratanium case, 15 mm official height and 6 bar water-resistance rating make the specifications as important to assess as the unusual time-zone control. IWC lists the watch at €20,200 including VAT on its EU English product page; that is a regional listing, not a universal price.
How the Timezoner bezel works
Press the bezel down, then rotate it until the city for the time zone you want sits at 12 o’clock. The hour hand, 24-hour display and date then move together in one-hour increments. IWC says the mechanism can move forward or backward, cross the date line and do so without stopping the seconds. The city ring represents 24 international time zones. IWC’s product description explains the operation.
This is a way to change the watch’s displayed local time, not a separately adjustable home-time hand. The 24-hour display indicates AM or PM for the time shown. Small “S” markers on the city ring indicate daylight-saving settings; IWC’s German description explains aligning the applicable marker when needed. Daylight-saving rules and conventions vary, so check the instructions for the relevant market rather than assuming every city follows the same seasonal change. These are the figures on IWC’s official product page. The 6 bar figure is a stated rating; it is not, by itself, a recommendation for a particular water activity.

Case size, materials and design
The 46 mm diameter and 15 mm official height describe a substantial case on paper. Whether it sits comfortably depends on the wearer’s wrist and fit; the available hands-on coverage does not establish a wrist-specific comfort result. Monochrome reported a 15.1 mm height in its 2021 article, while IWC’s current listing gives 15 mm. Monochrome’s measurement is a small source-level difference, not grounds for treating either figure as a personalized fit assessment.
The watch combines a matte-black Ceratanium case with a ceramic city ring, black dial, gray numerals, tinted sapphire back and black rubber strap with textile inlay. The strap is not a Ceratanium bracelet.

IWC describes Ceratanium as a titanium-based alloy whose components are machined and then fired at high temperatures. According to the company, this process creates a matte-black surface with ceramic-like hardness and scratch resistance; IWC also describes the material as skin-friendly and corrosion-resistant. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent comparative abrasion findings. The process and material description appear in IWC’s October 25, 2021 launch release.
Movement and everyday considerations
Automatic caliber 82760 has a listed 60-hour power reserve and runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour. IWC’s launch release says its Pellaton winding system is reinforced with ceramic components. The hacking seconds stop when the crown is pulled, while the Timezoner bezel provides the watch’s distinctive way to change the indicated local hour.

For travel, the practical distinction is that selecting a city moves the displayed hour and related date indications together; it does not leave a second, independently set home-time display running alongside local time. The date’s ability to move across the date line is useful when changing zones in either direction, while the city ring’s daylight-saving markers require attention when seasonal time applies.
Price, production and warranty
IWC’s EU English storefront lists €20,200 including VAT. The figure is regional and may change; it does not establish the current price, tax treatment or stock status in another market. IWC’s October 25, 2021 release reported annual production of 500 pieces, which describes yearly production rather than a one-time total. At launch, IWC said the model was available through its boutiques, authorized retail partners and IWC.com; that announcement does not establish present availability. The launch release also reported an €18,200 launch-era price, which should not be confused with the current EU listing.

IWC’s product page advertises up to eight years of warranty coverage through registration in My IWC care. Eligibility, terms and market applicability should be confirmed with IWC for the specific purchase. The 2021 launch release described registration as extending the standard two-year International Limited Warranty, but those launch-era terms should not be assumed to govern a current transaction.

For comparison with another travel watch, the useful questions are whether the mechanism changes local time or displays home time separately, how the date behaves at the date line, whether daylight-saving changes are represented, and how the case size, movement, water-resistance rating, strap fit and current regional price compare. The specifications above describe the IW395505; they do not establish superiority over competing watches.
