That combination makes it a traditional-looking watch with a notably busy dial; whether it works for you depends as much on your appetite for information at a glance as on the case size.
What the exact reference offers
Longines names this model the Master Collection Chrono Moonphase. Its UK product page identifies reference L2.673.4.92.0 as the sunray-blue-dial version on an alligator strap. That suffix matters: Longines lists other Master Collection variants with different dial or strap configurations, so check the complete reference when comparing listings.

How the crowded dial is organized
The dial carries several kinds of information in close company. In his 10 January 2020 review of this exact reference, James Robinson of Time+Tide described the layout as cohesive despite its number of indications. His account is a reviewer’s assessment, not a universal legibility finding.

Robinson also noted the radially brushed, sunburst navy dial, which gives the blue surface visual texture. The many scales and subdials are part of the watch’s character, but they ask the wearer to read a designed instrument rather than a spare, instantly uncluttered face. What 40 mm means for wear
The 40 mm steel case is a defining part of this reference. Robinson compared it with an earlier 42 mm blue-dial version and said the smaller case changed how the watch sat on his wrist. That is useful context, but it is personal wear commentary from 2020, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist. Case diameter alone does not establish how a watch will wear; try the exact model if possible, especially if the layered dial makes it feel visually larger to you.

Robinson described sapphire crystals at both the front and case back, along with a navy alligator strap with contrasting stitching and a push-button clasp. Longines’ current UK listing confirms a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and the alligator strap with triple safety folding clasp and push-piece opening mechanism.
Water resistance: 3 bar, not a dive-watch rating
Longines lists water resistance at 3 bar. Treat that as the stated rating, not as evidence that this chronograph is intended for diving or as a substitute for a specific activity recommendation from Longines. If water exposure is a deciding factor, consult the manufacturer’s current guidance for the watch and have its condition and seals considered before relying on its rating.
