It pairs that choice with a Seiko (SII) VK63A mecaquartz movement, a double-domed sapphire crystal and a 46.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement reported by Fratello. The concept is appealing if you want one watch to serve two display purposes; the main trade-offs are quartz operation and a 13.4 mm case thickness.
What the Inter.bezel changes
The Inter.bezel’s defining feature is not a new movement or complication, but the option to change the scale around the dial. Nivada Grenchen offers the Chronoking with a GMT bezel or a tachymeter bezel, and says owners can swap them without tools. The brand describes the process this way: “Swapping bezels is effortless, just use your fingers to snap them on or off, no tools required.” That is the manufacturer’s description of the mechanism, not an independent durability test. Nivada Grenchen’s product listing presents the two bezel options and the swapping claim.
GMT bezel
The GMT scale is for tracking another time zone. It is the more useful option if you regularly coordinate with someone elsewhere or want a quick reference to a second location. It adds a travel-oriented look to the dial, though the available material does not establish a separate GMT movement function or an independently controlled additional time-zone hand.
Tachymeter bezel
A tachymeter scale is used to estimate average speed over a known distance, typically by timing how long a fixed-distance segment takes. It suits the chronograph’s sporty, motorsport-style presentation. The scale is a reading aid; it does not measure speed on its own.

The point of the interchangeable system is that you can choose which scale is on the watch, rather than being locked into one bezel presentation. The sources do not specify how many swaps the mechanism is rated to withstand, so the tool-free claim should not be read as a published long-term wear guarantee.
Case, dial and proportions
The case is 316L stainless steel with polished and brushed finishing, and the crystal is double-domed sapphire, according to Nivada Grenchen’s specifications. Fratello reports dimensions of 38 mm in diameter, 46.5 mm lug to lug and 13.4 mm thick. The moderate diameter is paired with a more substantial thickness, a detail worth weighing if you prefer a particularly slim chronograph or need a watch to sit neatly under a close-fitting cuff.

Fratello describes the dial as matte black with a grainy texture, orange embossed indexes with Super-LumiNova, and three black azurage-finished sub-dials. That contrast gives the dial a more energetic appearance than an all-black layout, while keeping the sub-dials visually integrated. Nivada frames the broader Chronoking Mecaquartz collection as 1970s-inspired in its bezel explainer; that is the brand’s design framing rather than independently established historical provenance.
Movement, accuracy and upkeep
Nivada identifies the caliber as the VK63A quartz movement. Fratello specifies it as a Seiko (SII) VK63A mecaquartz movement, so “mecaquartz” is the useful description for the Chronoking’s hybrid-style chronograph operation while preserving the manufacturer’s caliber designation. Fratello’s reviewer notes that mecaquartz will not suit every chronograph buyer; that is an individual preference, not a universal verdict.

The official specification lists accuracy of ±20 seconds per month, an SR936SW silver-oxide battery and an estimated battery life of approximately three years. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements made for this review. Battery life is approximate, and actual service timing can vary. Owners who are not comfortable opening a watch should use a qualified watchmaker for battery replacement; the stated battery type alone is not an instruction to open the case.
Water resistance and strap choices
Nivada lists water resistance at 10 ATM; Fratello expresses that specification as 100 meters. This is the published rating, not a guarantee of suitability for every water activity or of the watch’s condition after wear, impact or servicing. Follow the manufacturer’s current guidance for use and maintenance.

Who the Chronoking Inter.bezel suits
This model makes the strongest case for someone who likes a compact-diameter chronograph and values choosing between a second-time-zone scale and a speed-reading scale. Before buying, consider these factors:
- Bezel use: Pick GMT if a second time-zone reference matters more; choose tachymeter if you prefer the chronograph-and-speed-scale look or use the scale’s timing method.
- Fit: The published dimensions are 38 mm across, 46.5 mm lug to lug and 13.4 mm thick. Those measurements are more useful than diameter alone when judging how the watch may sit on your wrist.
- Movement preference: The VK63A is quartz-based and battery-powered. If you specifically want a mechanical chronograph, this is not that kind of watch.
- Band setup: Check the strap or bracelet included in the selected listing, since the sources describe several options and historical prices differ by configuration.
- Price timing: Treat the brand’s displayed price as a dated snapshot and verify the live listing before purchase.
For the buyer attracted to both bezel styles, the switching concept is the genuine point of difference. For someone who wants a slim case, a mechanical movement or a single-purpose tool watch, the thickness, quartz format or interchangeable-scale premise may be less compelling.
