What is the OMEGA Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition?
Reference 522.92.39.21.99.001 is OMEGA’s Olympic-medal tribute watch for Paris 2024. The brand announced it on 24 July 2024, describing the combination of case, dial and hands as a reference to the three medal metals. The design is not simply a standard watch with a Games logo: its most distinctive details are the unusual case alloy, silver dial and restrained vintage styling. What makes the Paris 2024 Bronze Gold watch different?
A proprietary alloy instead of conventional bronze
The 39 mm case is made from OMEGA’s Bronze Gold, which the manufacturer describes as a soft pink-hued alloy designed to resist corrosion without developing verdigris. OMEGA says it contains 37.5% gold, is hallmarked as 9K, and is enriched with palladium and silver. The independent Monochrome Watches hands-on review additionally reports 50% copper in the composition.
Silver dial, gold-toned hands
The dial is made from Ag 925 silver. Its center has a “Clous de Paris” pattern, while the minute track and small-seconds track use circular brushing. Slender 18K Sedna Gold hands are coated with PVD Bronze Gold, and the dial carries a dark-grey heritage-style OMEGA logo. The crown also features a vintage OMEGA logo.

1939 inspiration, not a new CK 859
OMEGA traces the watch’s vintage appearance to a classic 1939 wristwatch with a manual-winding 30T small-seconds calibre. The CK 859 reference appeared on historical technical sheets in connection with the older watch’s material and case shape. The Paris tribute’s caseback is engraved “BG 859,” which OMEGA says symbolizes that case shape in Bronze Gold; the new model is not identified as a CK 859.
How does the movement and case measure up?
OMEGA equips the watch with its hand-wound Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8926, describing it as a modern tribute to the vintage 30T2. OMEGA confirms the movement and says the special presentation box includes a METAS certification card. OMEGA pairs the watch with a brown calf-skin leather strap and a sandblasted Bronze Gold buckle bearing a polished vintage OMEGA logo. The source specifications do not establish compatibility with aftermarket straps, so confirm the fit requirements for this reference before ordering a replacement.
What is known about the price and availability?
Rebecca Doulton’s Monochrome Watches review, published 9 August 2024, reported a launch-period price of CHF 11,400 or EUR 13,200 and described the special edition as not limited at that time. Those figures are historical, not a current quote. The available sources do not establish today’s retail price, stock, authorized-seller availability or whether OMEGA still offers the model in every market.
How does it fit the Paris 2024 story?
OMEGA was Official Timekeeper for the 31st Olympic Games and stated that it timed 329 events across 32 sports.
