The Patek Philippe 5236P-010 is a platinum perpetual calendar whose day, date and month share one horizontal aperture at 12 o’clock. Its “salmon” dial is officially described by Patek Philippe as rose-gilt opaline. The exact reference is now marked discontinued by the maker; its successor-family counterpart, the 5236P-011, has a silvery dial.
What makes the 5236P-010’s calendar display distinctive?
Rather than placing the day, date and month in separate windows or on hands, the 5236P-010 presents all three in a single, wide aperture across the top of the dial. Patek Philippe calls this a fully in-line perpetual calendar. The arrangement is the watch’s defining visual feature and is paired with small round apertures for the leap-year and day/night indications.
At 6 o’clock, a small-seconds display shares space with the moon-phase indication. The result is a dial with several functions, but the main calendar information reads as one horizontal line rather than a cluster of separate subdials.
Is the dial really salmon?
“Salmon” is the familiar shorthand used by watch writers and readers; Patek Philippe’s official term for the 5236P-010 is “rose-gilt opaline.” The dial finish and color give this platinum Grand Complication a warmer look than the earlier blue-dial 5236P-001. In his April 26, 2024 hands-on review for Fratello, Thomas Van Straaten praised the layered surface and said the color made the watch feel livelier and less formal than the blue version. Those are his impressions, not a manufacturer specification.

The movement’s platinum off-center mini-rotor winds the self-winding caliber. Patek Philippe’s 2024 launch release said the additional calendar module received three patents and described the platinum rotor as increasing winding power. Those are the manufacturer’s descriptions of its design.
How does it wear?
The 41.3 mm case is substantial, though its listed thickness is 11.07 mm. Van Straaten reported a 48.6 mm lug-to-lug measurement in his Fratello review, a dimension not included in Patek Philippe’s technical specifications for this reference. He found the watch wore well but would have preferred a somewhat smaller case. That is one reviewer’s assessment; fit will depend on the wearer and wrist.

The in-line perpetual calendar debuted in 2021 as the blue-dial 5236P-001. Patek Philippe introduced the rose-gilt opaline 5236P-010 in 2024. The manufacturer now marks both of those references discontinued. Its current 5236P-011 page shows a silvery-dial version with the same 31-260 PS QL movement and in-line day/date/month display. Shared architecture does not establish equal pricing or availability between references.
Fratello reported a price of CHF 120,000 in its April 26, 2024 article. That is a dated publication figure, not a current retail quote or an estimate of today’s secondary-market value. No current price or live availability for the 5236P-010 is established here. For a discontinued example, any listing should be checked directly for availability, condition and provenance.
