In Balazs Ferenczi’s 2019 review, it comes across as a substantial watch that nevertheless wore comfortably for him; its 300 m water resistance and ISO 6425 designation are the headline specifications. The special edition’s Sea Turtle Conservancy connection adds a conservation purpose, though current donation terms and availability are not established.
What this 60th Anniversary edition is
The reviewed watch is reference C032.407.17.051.60, the 43 mm rubber-strap version. Fratello reported that a bracelet version came first in 2017, before this rubber-strap release. The edition was created around Certina’s connection with the Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC): the 2019 review said a portion of sales proceeds went to the organization and noted special turtle-shaped packaging. Those are claims about the edition as reviewed then, not confirmation of today’s donation arrangement. Case, dial and dive-watch details
Fratello reports a 316L stainless-steel case measuring 43 mm across and 13.3 mm thick, with a sapphire crystal coated for anti-reflection on both sides. The case back and crown screw down, and the watch is rated to 300 m water resistance with an ISO 6425 designation. These are the published specifications for this reference; the designation should not be read as a substitute for following safe diving practice or confirming a particular watch’s condition.
The black dial uses luminous indices, with a date window at 3 o’clock. A turquoise seconds hand provides the most conspicuous color accent; Ferenczi says it references STC’s color. The bezel has an aluminum insert and, according to the review, turns in 60 clicks. Together the dark dial, bright lume and colored hand give the watch a functional tool-watch look rather than making the conservation theme dominate the face.

Movement and everyday utility
The review identifies the automatic movement as the Powermatic 80.111 and lists up to 80 hours of power reserve and 23 jewels. That reserve can be useful if the watch is taken off for a weekend and then returned to rotation. Fratello also lists a 28,800-vibrations-per-hour frequency, but the review’s comments dispute that figure, so it is best not to treat it as settled here.
How it wears, according to the reviewer
A 43 mm diameter and 13.3 mm thickness make this a sizeable watch on paper. Ferenczi describes it as large and relatively tall, but says, “I found it comfortable and well-balanced weight-wise.” That is his experience on his own wrist, not a guarantee of fit for every wearer. If you prefer compact, low-profile watches, trying the case on before buying is especially worthwhile.

The rubber strap is described as long and designed to be trimmed to length before its clasp is reattached. Ferenczi notes that an authorized dealer can do the adjustment for owners who are not comfortable handling the tools. The available information does not establish generic replacement-strap compatibility, so check the exact reference and fitting requirements before ordering an aftermarket strap.
Who should consider it
- Consider it if: you want a substantial mechanical dive watch, value the reported 300 m rating and 80-hour reserve, and like the rubber-strap configuration and STC connection.
- Try it on first if: you have a smaller wrist, dislike taller watches, or are unsure about wearing a 43 mm case.
- Compare carefully if: your decision depends on bracelet versus rubber, current price, or the conservation contribution. The bracelet edition preceded this one, but the 2019 review does not provide a controlled comparison, and current donation terms and market value are unverified.
Price and availability
Fratello reported a launch-era price of €855 for the rubber-strap version in 2019. That is historical pricing, not a current offer. Current stock, resale value and marketplace listings were not established, so check the exact reference with a retailer or seller and confirm condition, included strap and documentation before purchase.
