The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch is a limited-edition, automatic wristwatch—not a standalone stopwatch. Reference CAW218F.FC6356 pairs a 39 mm black-DLC-coated titanium case with a mechanical chronograph and styling TAG Heuer says revives the look of Heuer stopwatches from the 1960s and 1970s. TAG Heuer’s UK listing displayed £8,600 when accessed in 2026; that regional price may change.
What is the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch?
It is TAG Heuer’s Monaco reference CAW218F.FC6356, officially named the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch Automatic. The “Stopwatch” name refers to its design inspiration: it is a wristwatch with an automatic mechanical chronograph, not a handheld timing instrument.

TAG Heuer describes the black-and-silver dial, red central chronograph hand and contrasting colours as echoes of Heuer stopwatch designs from the 1960s and 1970s. The company frames the edition as a tribute to trackside timekeeping. That is the brand’s stated design story, rather than an independent historical assessment. TAG Heuer’s UK product page and its 23 May 2025 Official Magazine article describe the model and its inspiration.
How does the Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch work?
The watch uses an automatic movement, with a chronograph function for timing intervals. TAG Heuer lists a 1/4-second indication and a 30-minute counter, alongside hours, minutes, seconds and a date display. The red central hand is the prominent visual link to the stopwatch-inspired design; the listed timing functions are mechanical chronograph features, not electronic stopwatch functions.

What movement is inside the CAW218F.FC6356?
TAG Heuer specifies its Calibre 11 automatic movement. The manufacturer lists a 40-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, equivalent to 4 Hz. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. TAG Heuer’s Official Magazine says Calibre 11 “made history in 1969”; that historical framing is the brand’s wording.
What are the case, dial and strap specifications?

How many were made?
TAG Heuer says the edition is limited to 970 pieces. Its Official Magazine connects that number to the decade in which the stopwatch instruments inspiring the design were prominent; this is TAG Heuer’s explanation of the edition size.
