The Swatch Big Bold Bioceramic C-Black is a deliberately oversized, all-black quartz watch. Its 47 mm case gives it substantial wrist presence, while the dark hands and dial trade quick readability for a stealthy, monochrome look. It is best suited to someone who wants that bold styling and a straightforward three-hand display—not a discreet watch or a high-contrast dial.
What the C-Black is
The exact model is the Swatch Big Bold Bioceramic C-Black, reference SB03B100. Swatch describes its design as all black and identifies the case material as BIOCERAMIC; its product page lists quartz movement and 3-bar water resistance. Swatch’s regional product page displayed a price of €150 when accessed in 2026. That is a regional listing, not a universal or guaranteed current price.
The hands-on review by Ariel Adams at aBlogtoWatch describes a Swiss-made Swatch quartz movement with three hands, a plastic crystal, and a strap that felt similar to silicone to the reviewer. The strap description is an observation, not an official material specification. Adams also notes that the movement is visible through the watch’s design.
How large does it wear?
Adams gives the case dimensions as 47 mm wide and 11.75 mm thick in his May 2021 review. Those proportions make the Big Bold name literal: this is a large, prominent watch, rather than a subtle everyday or dress-watch profile. A Swatch Australia listing also gives a 44.80 mm lug-to-lug measurement, alongside the same width and thickness, though wrist fit depends on wrist shape and personal preference.

Adams reported that the curved case and strap wrap around the wrist comfortably. That is his wearing impression, not a fit guarantee for every wrist. If possible, compare the stated width and thickness with a watch you already find comfortable; the broad case is the key consideration before buying.
Is the black dial easy to read?
Readability is the main styling compromise. Adams characterizes the C-Black as one of the less legible Big Bold variants because the case, dial, and hands are predominantly black. The low-contrast treatment supports the stealthy appearance, but it can make a quick glance less effortless than on a colorway with brighter hands or stronger dial contrast.

If instant time-reading matters more than a uniform black look, choose a higher-contrast version of the Big Bold. If visual discretion and the monochrome effect are the point, the C-Black’s reduced contrast is part of its appeal rather than an accidental mismatch.
Movement, battery access, and water resistance
The C-Black uses a simple three-hand quartz format. Adams reports audible ticking and notes a battery-compartment door on the caseback that makes battery swaps easier. That detail does not establish battery life, a specific battery type, accuracy, or the watch’s broader service requirements.

Swatch lists water resistance at 3 bar; Adams expresses the same rating as 30 meters. This is the published water-resistance figure, not a diving rating. Follow Swatch’s guidance for the specific watch and avoid treating the number as a promise of suitability for every water activity.
Price and buying context
Prices in the available sources are from different markets and dates, so they should not be treated as a direct comparison. Adams reported $125 USD in his May 2021 review; Swatch’s regional product page displayed €150 when accessed in 2026. Check your local Swatch site or an authorized local seller for the current price and availability, and confirm the reference is SB03B100 if you are comparing listings.

For a product listing, match the model number rather than relying on a similar Big Bold name or black colorway. That avoids confusing the C-Black with other variants in the collection.

- A good fit: someone who wants an oversized, conspicuous case, an all-black look, and a basic quartz three-hand watch.
- Think twice: if you prefer compact proportions, a conventional dress-watch silhouette, or high contrast for reading time quickly.
- Before ordering: check the 47 mm width against a watch that fits you well, and verify the SB03B100 reference and local price.
