The VINGT SEPT eyewear shown with it belongs to TAG Heuer’s 2024 eyewear relaunch. The available feature establishes a coordinated design story, not a technical connection between glasses and watch, and does not identify a confirmed frame reference or current price.

This is the 45 mm TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 in steel, reference SBR8A14.BT6317. It is not the smaller 42 mm E4, a later Connected generation or the newer Calibre E5 line. TAG Heuer’s U.S. page identifies this exact reference as discontinued: official product page.

Why the green ceramic bezel changes the look
Green is the identity of this reference. The polished ceramic ring supplies a deeper, more jewelry-like color than painted or anodized metal and should resist everyday scratching better than many conventional finishes, although ceramic can still chip or crack after a hard impact. The case combines polished and brushed steel surfaces, while the rubber strap keeps the package sporty. In the original hands-on feature, those surfaces and the fitted strap were the main reasons the watch looked more like a luxury sports watch than a generic gadget: hands-on coverage.
Size, thickness and daily comfort
A 45 mm diameter and 15.27 mm thickness make this a substantial watch. Smaller wrists may see the lugs extend beyond the wrist, and the tall case can catch on shirt cuffs. The folding clasp adds security but also contributes to bulk underneath the wrist. The rubber strap is suited to sweat and exercise, yet buyers who wear a watch overnight should check whether the case height and clasp remain comfortable in their sleeping position.
The 22.09 mm lug distance is a measurement of this case, not proof that every generic 22 mm strap will fit its proprietary attachment system. Replacement strap availability and pricing should be confirmed with TAG Heuer or an authorized service channel before buying a discontinued example.
Display and watch faces
The 1.39-inch AMOLED display sits beneath flat sapphire crystal. The original hands-on account described it as bright, sharp and easy to read; that is a subjective observation rather than a laboratory brightness result. Sapphire helps protect the screen from scratches, but reflections can still affect outdoor legibility.

TAG Heuer supplies branded dynamic and customizable dials, plus branded stopwatch, timer and alarm applications. Their value is primarily visual: they make the digital watch resemble a TAG Heuer instrument. Always-on display, animation and notification settings will influence endurance.

Wear OS, compatibility and TAG Heuer’s software layer
The Snapdragon Wear 4100+ and Wear OS by Google provide access to the Wear OS ecosystem, while TAG Heuer adds Sports, Golf and Wellness applications and an NFT Viewer listed in its technical information. The original reviewer found no obvious major omission in everyday smartwatch functions, but that was an impression rather than a complete feature audit.
On the U.S. product page, TAG Heuer lists Android 8.1 through Android 15 (excluding Android Go) and iOS 15.4 through iOS 18.4. Treat those as the ranges displayed on that page, checked for this article, rather than a guarantee of future compatibility. iPhone pairing does not imply Apple Watch-level integration or feature parity with Android. Google services, third-party apps and update support can change, and a discontinued platform carries greater long-term support risk than a current model.
Sports, health and everyday functions
TAG Heuer lists GNSS, heart-rate monitoring, a compass, barometer, microphone, NFC and TAG Heuer Sports modes for running, cycling, fitness, swimming and other sports, alongside TAG Heuer Golf and Wellness. GPS can provide location without carrying the phone, but the supplied material does not establish acquisition time, track accuracy or battery consumption in a controlled test.

The 440 mAh battery is rated by TAG Heuer for a full day including multiple hours of sport, with a claimed 90-minute charge to 100 percent. Actual runtime depends on GPS use, notifications, apps, screen behavior, charge cycles and battery age. Always-on display and overnight tracking may make a second charge necessary. The proprietary four-pin charger is another item to verify when buying used; replacing it may be less convenient for a discontinued model.
What the VINGT SEPT eyewear adds
The accompanying glasses are presented as part of TAG Heuer’s 2024 VINGT SEPT eyewear relaunch. The hands-on author tried several TAG Heuer frames and selected the pair that best suited the author’s face, describing the collection in comfort- and technology-focused terms. However, the published feature does not establish an exact VINGT SEPT SKU, frame measurements, lens specification, prescription compatibility, coating, warranty or current retail price.

Accordingly, the defensible connection is stylistic: the green bezel, rubber strap and eyewear create a coordinated luxury-sport look. There is no verified evidence of smart-glasses functions, augmented reality, an app link or watch-to-eyewear communication. Do not buy a frame from an image alone without confirming its model number and optical specifications.

For collectors and TAG Heuer enthusiasts
The strongest case is design and ownership character: ceramic color, sapphire crystal, Swiss luxury branding and TAG Heuer dials in a format that looks unlike an Apple Watch or a utilitarian fitness tracker.
For daily smartwatch users
The age of the 4100+ platform, one-day endurance and discontinued status make it difficult to justify at a premium over current Wear OS hardware unless the TAG Heuer construction is the priority.
For fitness-first buyers
Choose a current endurance-oriented platform if long GPS sessions, multi-day battery life or a documented update roadmap matter more than case finishing.
For iPhone owners
Check the phone’s exact iOS version against the TAG Heuer page before purchase and expect a different experience from Apple Watch integration.

Secondhand inspection checklist
- Confirm the engraved or documented reference is SBR8A14.BT6317.
- Ask for photographs of the caseback, original four-pin charger and charging contacts.
- Test pairing with your actual phone and verify the required operating-system version.
- Measure battery behavior under notifications and exercise rather than accepting a vague “good battery” claim.
- Inspect the AMOLED panel for burn-in, dead pixels and uneven brightness.
- Check the sapphire crystal for chips, the ceramic bezel for impact damage, and the strap and clasp for wear.
- Ask about water exposure, seal servicing and any history of impact.
- Require serial documentation, proof of authenticity and a return period where possible.
A low resale price is not automatically a bargain if the battery, charger, strap or software support is near the end of its useful life.

The green-ceramic Connected E4 succeeds as a luxury object first and a practical smartwatch second. Its strongest assets are the distinctive bezel, sapphire crystal, substantial steel case, TAG Heuer software styling and Wear OS functionality. Its compromises are equally clear in 2026: large dimensions, daily charging, an older Snapdragon platform and discontinued status. Buy it for the design and brand at a carefully verified price; do not buy it expecting the longevity, health depth or endurance of a current mainstream smartwatch.
