The chocolate-dial TUDOR Royal in steel and gold is the 41 mm reference M28603-0007, introduced in 2023. It pairs a sunburst brown dial and day-date display with a notched 18K yellow-gold bezel and an integrated two-tone bracelet. Its reported T603 movement and 38-hour power reserve belong to this older reference—not to TUDOR’s redesigned current Royal range.
What is the chocolate-dial TUDOR Royal?
Robert-Jan Broer’s 2023 hands-on review identifies the watch as reference M28603-0007, a 41 mm Royal with a chocolate-brown sunburst dial, gold-tone Roman numerals, and windows for the day and date. The case has a tonneau-shaped profile and an integrated bracelet. Fratello’s review is the source for the reference and the specifications below.
How the steel-and-gold construction is divided
The two-tone look does not mean every gold-colored component is solid gold. Broer describes the notched bezel as 18K yellow gold; the crown and bracelet links are gold-capped. In the review, the cap is reported as 0.1 mm on the crown and 0.2 mm on the links. The dial’s hands and Roman numerals are gold-tone.

These are the specifications reported for the 2023 M28603-0007, not for today’s redesigned Royal family.

Fratello reported a price of €3,720 when it published the review on October 14, 2023. That is a historical publication-time price, not a current quote.
How it may wear, and what to check on the bracelet
Broer says the tonneau-shaped case can wear larger than its nominal diameter suggests. He describes the integrated bracelet as comfortable, but notes that it has no micro-adjustment and that the clasp includes a safety lock. Since bracelet sizing matters and link changes do not offer the same convenience as on-the-fly adjustment, try the watch on and ask a retailer about fitting before buying.

Broer also associates the watch’s silhouette and two-tone appearance with long-discontinued Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust and Day-Date models. That is his design comparison, not a claim that the Royal is equivalent to those watches.
How this 41 mm model differs from the current TUDOR Royal range
TUDOR’s current Royal collection page describes a redesigned family offered in 30 mm, 36 mm, and 40 mm sizes, with brown among the dial colors and steel or steel-and-yellow-gold options. It lists Manufacture Calibres including MT5412 and MT5633 for current models. Those details should not be carried over to the 2023 M28603-0007, whose review reports a 41 mm case and T603 movement. TUDOR’s current Royal collection page is useful for distinguishing the present family, but does not establish that the older reference remains in production or in stock.

What to verify before sourcing M28603-0007
Because the current collection information does not confirm availability of this older reference, check with a retailer for the exact M28603-0007 rather than assuming a brown-dial current Royal is the same watch. Confirm the reference, condition, current price, and bracelet fit before committing; the 2023 review price is not a guide to today’s asking price.
