What the Balmont BDX004 is
Balmont presents the BDX004 as a Swiss-origin automatic watch. Its current English product listing specifies a 316L stainless-steel case measuring 40 mm wide, 48 mm long from lug to lug, and 12 mm thick. The lugs are drilled, the crown screws down, and the slightly domed sapphire crystal has anti-reflective treatment. The white dial has a ceramic coating and riveted indexes. Balmont says the hands and indexes use Super-LumiNova BGW9, and that the railway track around the dial marks fifth-second intervals. The dial’s bright white surface and applied details give the watch a clear, instrument-like layout without making it a conventional dive-watch design.
Movement, accuracy and water resistance
Balmont specifies an automatic Soprod P024 movement with a 38-hour power reserve, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, an Incabloc shock absorber, and stated precision of -7/+7 seconds per day. Treat the precision figure as the manufacturer’s specification rather than a guarantee of how a particular watch will perform on the wrist.

The listed water resistance is 20 ATM (200 meters). That rating is a published specification, not a real-world test of a particular watch or its current seals. The screw-down crown is part of the stated construction, but a water-resistance rating does not remove the need to keep the crown properly secured or have an older watch’s seals checked before aquatic use.
How it wears
Fratello Watches published an independent hands-on review by Nacho Conde Garzón on September 26, 2023. He wore the BDX004 for several days and described it as versatile for everyday wear. Although he generally prefers watches around 37–38 mm, he said the 48 mm lug-to-lug length and relatively slim 12 mm profile meant he did not wish this watch were smaller. The dimensions suggest why a 40 mm watch can feel more restrained than diameter alone implies: lug-to-lug length affects how much of the wrist the case spans, while thickness affects how it sits under a cuff. If you are considering the BDX004, compare the 48 mm length with a watch you already find comfortable rather than relying on the diameter in isolation.

Balmont says the watch comes with a green suede strap in a fitted 20 × 16 mm cut and a washable black fabric strap with a straight cut. Its listing also says a strap-changing tool is included. Fratello describes the black strap as nylon and reports a 20 mm strap width, along with a spring-bar tool. Because the sources describe the supplied straps somewhat differently, check the current product listing for the exact configuration offered with a specific order.

Before buying one, confirm the lug width, taper, and buckle compatibility: the manufacturer’s fitted 20 × 16 mm strap design does not prove that every aftermarket 20 mm strap or buckle will fit. The BDX004 already includes two straps and a changing tool.
Price, warranty and Balmont’s concept
As of October 8, 2026, Balmont’s product page lists the BDX004 at €790 including tax, with free shipping and a two-year warranty. These are current manufacturer-listed terms, not a guarantee that the same price, delivery terms, tax treatment, warranty coverage, or availability will apply to every buyer or region. Fratello’s €790 figure was the pre-order price in its September 2023 review, so it is historical context rather than a current quote.
Balmont also describes an annual treasure hunt: the team travels to bury or immerse a sealed capsule containing a watch model guaranteed for life, and says each watch comes with a mission briefing and GPS coordinates.
