The Bianchet Flying Tourbillon Grande Date B 1.618 is a manually wound, openworked tourbillon watch with a two-disc large date—not a conventional dialled sports watch. Its Carbon Orange version, reference CBOFTGD4, is listed by Bianchet at CHF 65,500 before tax. The 2023 hands-on review described a light, curved carbon-composite watch whose tourbillon sits at six o’clock and large date at twelve; the dimensions and performance ratings below are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
What the Bianchet Flying Tourbillon Grande Date B 1.618 is
Bianchet presents the B 1.618 as an openworked watch organized around a manually wound movement, a 60-second flying tourbillon and a skeletonized Grande Date complication. On the Carbon Orange reference, the large date is at twelve o’clock and the tourbillon at six, according to Xavier Markl’s 14 December 2023 hands-on report for Monochrome Watches. The open construction makes the movement a central part of the watch’s appearance rather than something hidden behind a conventional dial.
The name’s “B 1.618” refers to the golden ratio. Bianchet says the design is intended to reflect balance and harmony; that is the manufacturer’s design rationale, not a measured performance characteristic.
What the 2023 hands-on review observed
Markl described the layered pattern in the curved carbon composite case, the colored gaskets and the openworked movement architecture. He noted that a minute track on the flange provides a legibility reference amid the exposed mechanics. He also reported that the watch felt comfortable despite its dimensions, attributing that impression to the curved ergonomic design and its 55 g weight without the strap. These are the reviewer’s observations, not first-hand testing for this article.

Bianchet’s current Carbon Orange product page identifies the watch as reference CBOFTGD4 and lists it for CHF 65,500 excluding taxes. The page offers inquiry, reservation and retailer-locator routes, and says a reservation requires a 10% deposit; those terms are specific to the page and may change.

How many pieces are being made?
The production figures in the available sources do not align. Bianchet’s collection page, observed on 8 October 2026, says “Limited Production of 100 pieces.” Markl’s 14 December 2023 hands-on review describes a 200-piece limited edition, and the GPHG model record also gives 200 for a launch-era reference. The sources do not explain whether these figures cover different production scopes, such as a revised collection, individual variants or the original launch. Neither figure can be treated as definitively superseding the other.
