The Konstantin Chaykin Joker “Fiat Lux” keeps the original Joker’s playful face but opens it up: its skeletonized dial exposes the proprietary indication module beneath the eyes and moonphase mouth. The China-special production edition is specified by the maker with a 40 mm titanium case and the automatic K.18-21 caliber. The design is striking; the hands-on impressions below are attributed to Fratello writer Jorg Weppelink, who wore the watch for a few days in 2025.
What makes the Fiat Lux different from the original Joker?
The key change is not a new character but a more open view of the one Chaykin already created. The original Joker’s dial is skeletonized on the Fiat Lux, revealing the proprietary Joker indication module from the dial side. The hours and minutes remain in the eyes, while the mouth at six o’clock serves as a moonphase display.
Konstantin Chaykin describes it as “the first Joker with original specifications that allows the watch owner to view the proprietary Joker-indication module from the dial side.” The maker says the idea was to evoke sun or moon rays passing through a bamboo curtain. The open structure changes the face’s appearance while retaining its recognizable layout.
The name “Fiat Lux” translates as “let there be light,” according to Phillips’ catalog entry. The maker describes the dial as silver-plated and black-coated, with a Clous de Paris guilloche motif, multilayer varnish and pad-printed markers.

What is it like on the wrist?
Fratello’s Jorg Weppelink, writing on February 16, 2025, said he wore the watch for a few days. He described it as light on the wrist and noted that the layered dial rewards a closer look; he also cautioned that its size may not suit smaller wrists. These are the maker’s listed values for the production model, not measurements taken for this article. The specification does not state the strap’s lug width, so it does not establish compatibility with replacement straps.
Why do published specifications conflict?
The maker’s page includes earlier narrative text saying the Fiat Lux retained the original Joker’s technical characteristics and naming caliber K.07-0 with an ETA 2824-2 base. Fratello’s February 2025 specification table likewise lists K.07-0, an ETA 2824-2 base, a 38-hour reserve and a 42 mm case, although its article text says 40 mm. Those accounts conflict with the maker’s dedicated Fiat Lux specification, which lists K.18-21, ETA 2892A2, 42 hours and a 40 mm titanium case.

For the production model’s listed specifications, the dedicated exact-model section is the more specific reference. The figures should not be blended into a single specification set: the discrepancy is documented, but the available sources do not explain why the descriptions differ. Konstantin Chaykin Manufacture’s Fiat Lux page and Fratello’s review provide the respective descriptions.
How limited is the edition?
The maker calls Fiat Lux a special limited edition for China. Phillips describes a 38-piece edition made for Beijing retailer West Wood Time. Its catalogued 2024 watch is a stainless-steel prototype numbered 00/38, while the maker’s production specification lists a titanium case. The prototype is evidence of the edition’s development, not a standard production watch or a second retail version. Phillips’ catalog entry identifies the prototype and edition.

What did it cost, and can you buy one now?
Fratello reported a price of €41,000 on February 16, 2025. That is a dated report, not a verified 2026 price or confirmation of present availability. The same article named Blue Lake Watches as a Swiss retailer offering the watch outside China at the time. Current stock, authorized-retailer status and current pricing are not established by the cited sources.
The edition is rare enough that a marketplace search should not be mistaken for a listing: the available evidence does not establish that Amazon sells the Fiat Lux. For a purchase, verify directly with the maker or a specialist retailer whether a specific watch is the titanium production model, its condition and provenance, and whether it is actually available.
