The Isotope HydriumX “The Judge” is a 40 mm, 300 m-rated mechanical diver with a micro-blasted steel case, black dial, white luminous numerals and red accents. It was limited to 100 pieces, and Isotope’s archive currently marks it sold out. The £700 figure reported at launch in 2022 is historical—not a current retail price or an indication of resale value.
What makes “The Judge” distinctive?
Isotope built the watch around a black, white and red palette: a black dial with bold white Arabic numerals, red hands, and a red sapphire bezel insert. The numerals and the maker’s Lacrima hands are filled with Super-LumiNova. The result is a high-contrast design that gives the HydriumX a more graphic look than a conventional all-black diver. Isotope describes the color scheme as judge-inspired; that is the brand’s design intent, not an independent performance assessment. Isotope’s product page and Fratello’s September 2022 launch coverage both document the red-and-black treatment.
Case, dimensions and water resistance
The manufacturer specifies a micro-blasted 316L stainless-steel case measuring 40 mm across and 48 mm from lug to lug. It is 12.9 mm thick, or 14.9 mm including the double-domed sapphire crystal. The watch has a screw-down crown, an exhibition case back and a stated water-resistance rating of 300 m, 30 atm or 1,000 ft. Isotope also lists an anti-reflective coating on the sapphire crystal. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from an independent water-resistance test.
Those dimensions offer more fit context than diameter alone: the 48 mm lug-to-lug measurement is relevant to how the watch may sit across a wrist, while the additional crystal height matters if you are comparing thickness to another diver. Robbie and Watches reports that its author wore the watch on a 6.25-inch wrist and comments on its fit and micro-blasted appearance. That is one wearer’s observation, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist. Read that wearer’s account.
#1 Best Overall
- Stainless Steel case with Black Resin Band
- Black Dial with date window at 3 O'clock
- Luminous markers and hour hands; sweep second hand
- Anti-reverse bezel
- Water-resistant to 200 M (660 feet)
Bezel, dial and lume
The bezel is unidirectional and has 120 clicks, according to Isotope. Its red sapphire accent continues the dial’s color scheme. The white Arabic numerals and hands use Super-LumiNova, providing the watch’s specified luminous treatment. The available specifications do not establish a measured brightness or duration for the lume, or comparative bezel performance against other dive watches.
Automatic movement and stated performance
The product page identifies a Swiss Landeron mechanical automatic movement with 25 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 A/h and a stated 40-hour power reserve. Isotope gives accuracy as -12/+12 seconds per day; Fratello’s 2022 launch article reports ±12 seconds per day. These are published specifications, not timing results from testing this particular watch.

Strap and limited-edition details
The supplied strap is a black, 22 mm quick-release FKM strap, as specified by Isotope. A replacement strap should match the 22 mm lug width, but width alone does not establish compatibility: check the attachment and lug fit before ordering a third-party option. The manufacturer says the production run was limited to 100 pieces. Isotope’s product description lists both details.
Availability and price
As of October 7, 2026, Isotope’s Hydrium archive lists The Judge as sold out. That establishes its status in the official archive, not whether a secondary-market listing exists or what one might cost.

Fratello reported a £700 price when the watch launched on September 24, 2022; WatchPro also reported £700 in its launch coverage. Treat that amount as a dated launch price only, not as today’s retail price, a resale valuation or a live offer. No market-wide resale-price figure is established. Fratello’s launch report provides the dated price context, while WatchPro’s coverage also records the launch price.

- DIVER-INSPIRED DESIGN — Inspired by the sea, the MDV-106B is styled after classic dive watches and delivers 200-meter water resistance at an unbeatable price point. - LARGE FLUORESCENT HANDS & INDICES FOR INSTANT READABILITY — The dial features hands and hour indices with large fluorescent areas for easy reading in low-light and underwater conditions. The clean 3-hand analog layout with date display at 3 o'clock keeps the dial uncluttered and immediately legible at a glance.
- 44MM STAINLESS STEEL CASE | 22MM LUG WIDTH | MINERAL GLASS — The case measures 44mm in diameter, 12mm in height, with a 49mm lug-to-lug length and a standard 22mm lug width — making strap upgrades effortless with a vast range of aftermarket options. Mineral glass protects the dial from everyday scratches and impacts.
- 3-YEAR BATTERY & 200M WATER RESISTANCE — Powered by an SR626SW battery with an approximate 3-year life, the case measures 49.5 × 46.3 × 12.1mm and weighs 92 grams. At 200 meters of water resistance, the Duro is versatile and suitable for all situations — whether in the water, hiking, running, or at the office.

How to judge it as a diver
The published specification makes The Judge a compactly sized, 300 m-rated diver with a screw-down crown, a unidirectional timing bezel and a standard-width 22 mm strap. Whether it is the right choice depends on factors beyond the headline rating: how the 48 mm lug span sits on your wrist, whether you like the red accents, and how the case height feels in daily wear. The stated movement figures and water-resistance rating are not substitutes for independent testing or a controlled comparison with another watch.
