Announced by Swatch Group on June 12, 2024, and slated for selected-store availability from June 15, the three watches share the familiar MoonSwatch format but use distinct colors and dial treatments inspired by volcanic lava, the Aurora Borealis and desert landscapes. Swatch Group’s announcement and Swatch’s collection page describe the designs and official sales route.
How the three Mission on Earth models differ
The defining differences are the palette, dial details and natural phenomenon behind each design. The following descriptions of the watches are official product details; the in-person impressions are Robert-Jan Broer’s, writing for Fratello, not independent testing by WatchRanker.

These subjective reactions come from Fratello’s hands-on report. They are useful as visual reference points, not a universal ranking of which watch looks best.
What the watches share
All three retain the MoonSwatch’s Speedmaster-inspired chronograph design and asymmetrical case. Swatch describes the case material as its patented Bioceramic, made of two-thirds ceramic and one-third biosourced material derived from castor oil. - A tachymeter scale with the dot over 90 and Speedmaster-style subdials.
- Chronograph functionality and Grade A Super-LumiNova on the hands and indexes.
- An adjustable VELCRO strap and OMEGA x SWATCH branding.
- A mission statement on the caseback and an Earth design on the battery cover.
Fratello notes that the three models retain the dimensions and materials of earlier MoonSwatches, with color and printing providing the principal changes. Its report also describes radial numeral layouts on all three subdials and an Earth depiction on each battery cover.

Which one should you choose?
Choose by the color and inspiration that appeal to you rather than expecting a mechanical or performance distinction among the three: the cited materials emphasize shared construction and differing design treatments.

- Pick Lava if you want the strongest orange-and-black contrast and a volcanic theme.
- Pick Polar Lights if turquoise and blue are your preference, especially if you like the dial’s stone-like visual effect.
- Pick Desert if you prefer a subdued sand, greige and taupe palette.
Broer remarked that the standard strap could be more comfortable; that is his personal assessment, not a comparative comfort test. The available source material does not support a durability or comfort ranking among the three models.

Swatch’s collection page says the watches are sold only at selected Swatch stores worldwide and sets a limit of one watch per person, per day, and per store. Use the official collection page to find the store locator, then confirm local availability directly with a boutique. The page’s stated sales route does not confirm current stock at any specific location.

Launch-era prices were reported as US$300 by Hodinkee and €275 by Fratello, in different markets. Those are historical launch figures, not a current price quote. Check with Swatch for the price in your market.
