What is the grey-dial Pasha Chronograph?
It is the 41mm stainless-steel Pasha de Cartier Chronograph, reference CRWSPA0027, with an anthracite embossed dial. Monochrome Watches’ 4 January 2023 review identifies it as a non-limited edition and reports that it was available through Cartier boutiques at the time. Cartier’s US collection page includes an “Anthracite gray” dial-color filter, but that broad collection page does not confirm whether this exact reference is currently offered or in stock.
The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie describes the Pasha chronograph family as a 41mm watch powered by an automatic 1904-CH MC movement and notes a grey-dial option. That supports the broad family description; the reference-specific details below are those reported by Monochrome for CRWSPA0027.
What does the dial and case look like?
The anthracite flinqué dial has an embossed pattern, with white chapter rings around the chronograph counters and blued central and chronograph hands for contrast. The layout combines the time display and date with small seconds and two chronograph counters.

The review describes the familiar Pasha details: a rotating bezel, a capped crown attached by a chain, and sapphire-accented controls. The stainless-steel case measures 41mm across and 11.97mm thick. A sapphire crystal covers the dial, and the caseback is also sapphire.

The watch is reported with a brushed-and-polished three-link steel bracelet and an additional grey alligator strap. Monochrome describes Cartier’s QuickSwitch system as allowing tool-free strap changes, while SmartLink is used to adjust bracelet links. The review does not establish compatibility with third-party straps or give aftermarket part references.
How should its history be understood?
Monochrome dates the unveiling of the Pasha collection to 1985. The same review notes that documents have yet to confirm the popular story linking the watch’s origin to a Pasha of Marrakesh and a swimming pool in the 1930s. That anecdote is best treated as an unverified origin legend, not established history. Cartier’s US collection page describes the current Pasha as “True to its first iteration in 1985”; that is the brand’s collection copy, rather than independent evidence for the legend.

What did it cost, and is it available now?
Monochrome reported a launch-era price of EUR 10,500 or USD 9,750 and boutique availability in its 4 January 2023 review. These are historical figures, not current quotes. Cartier’s US Pasha collection page is not a product listing for CRWSPA0027, so it does not establish whether the reference remains in production, its present regional price, or current stock. Check with Cartier or an authorized retailer for current status.

The most relevant distinction is what the grey-dial Chronograph adds: a date and chronograph function, including 30-minute and 12-hour counters, rather than a time-only presentation. Its steel case and anthracite dial give it a different look from Pasha variants with silvery-white dials or gold cases. Comparisons should use reference-specific specifications rather than assuming all Pasha models share the same movement, dimensions, water resistance or strap setup.
Monochrome’s review notes that a 2021 white-dial Pasha Chronograph shared the 41mm diameter, 11.97mm thickness and 47-hour reserve, but had a different dial and a different launch-era price. The review does not provide a current, like-for-like price comparison; historical prices should be read in their original date and market context.
