Their shared draw is an unusual compressor-style case system: a bayonet case-back, proprietary crowns and a crown-operated internal dive bezel. In Monochrome’s 2023 review, the Ultradive presented the idea in polished steel, while the OPS took a darker, black-DLC-coated direction.
How the modern Sherpa watches relate to Enicar
“Sherpa” has a history in watchmaking through Enicar’s vintage models. The modern Sherpa brand is a separate revival effort: Monochrome reported in 2023 that German engineer and Enicar Sherpa collector Martin Klocke founded it in 2019, developing the Ultradive and OPS as modern recreations of original Enicar designs. That design lineage does not establish corporate ownership continuity with Enicar.
The launch-era models were identified as Ultradive reference 002/02/01 and OPS reference 001/02/01 in a 2021 report by Dive into Watches. Reference details and configurations can change over time, so the comparison below describes the versions covered by Monochrome’s December 2023 review.
Ultradive vs. OPS: what changes?
The two watches share their core dimensions, water-resistance rating and movement family. Their most visible difference is treatment: polished steel and applied luminous indices give the reviewed Ultradive a more traditional look; the OPS’s black DLC coating and different index and seconds-hand treatment make it more tactical in appearance.

What makes their compressor case different?
Bayonet case-back and pressure-assisted sealing
The case-back is described as an EPSA-STOP bayonet compressor system. Unlike a conventional threaded screw-down back, the bayonet arrangement locks into place through a turning mechanism. The compressor concept is intended to use increasing external water pressure to press the case and seals more tightly. That is the maker’s mechanism description as reported by Monochrome, not a result of independent testing presented here.

Two MONOFLEX crowns, with separate jobs
Monochrome describes the MONOFLEX compressor crowns as not screw-down in the reviewed watches. The upper crown turns the internal dive bezel; the lower crown sets the time and date. Keeping the bezel beneath the crystal avoids an exposed rotating external bezel, while crown operation gives the diver a way to set the elapsed-time scale from outside the case.
These features distinguish the Sherpas from a conventional external-bezel diver, but the 200 m figure should be read as a stated water-resistance rating, not as proof of a specific certification or a substitute for checking the maker’s operating and service guidance.

The Mantramatic MM01 movement
The MM01 is based on the automatic Sellita SW200-1. Monochrome reports a top-grade base movement with a 28,800-vibrations-per-hour beat rate, 38-hour power reserve, 26 jewels, gilt finish and a Sherpa-signed custom rotor. Those are review-reported specifications, not a separate movement test.
Its signature detail is inside the movement: two wheels carry microscopic laser engraving of the Tibetan Buddhist mantra “Om Mani Peme Hung.” The engraving is symbolic; Monochrome notes that it does not alter the movement’s performance. It gives the watch an unusual piece of identity that is invisible during ordinary wear.

Price and availability depend on when and where you look
Prices are not directly comparable across dates and tax treatment. Monochrome reported 2023-era prices of EUR 6,400 for the Ultradive and EUR 6,200 for the OPS, including 19% VAT, and said both could then be ordered. Those are historical figures, not current quotes.
Ace Jewelers’ OPS reference 0010201 listing showed EUR 5,289 excluding VAT and “In stock” when accessed on 8 October 2026; the retailer also listed a two-year international warranty. This is a dated listing from one retailer, not a manufacturer MSRP or a guarantee of current stock or pricing in every region. Check the retailer’s live listing for present terms.
Which one suits you?
- Choose the Ultradive if you prefer the polished-steel presentation and applied luminous indices of the version reviewed in 2023.
- Choose the OPS if the black DLC case and more tactical visual treatment are the appeal.
- Consider either if the internal bezel, compressor construction and engraved movement detail matter more to you than a conventional external-bezel diver layout.
Those distinctions describe the reviewed configurations, not a guarantee that every current or future variant uses identical finishes and dial details.
