The ProTek Series 1010 is a quartz dive-watch family with carbon-composite cases and ProTek’s USMC branding. The PT1011 is one model in that family—not the automatic Series 1210—and its key specifications include a 42 mm case, 300-meter water-resistance rating, sapphire crystal and self-powered T25 tritium illumination. This is a specifications-led buyer’s guide, not a claim of personal testing.
What the Series 1010 is—and what it is not
ProTek positions the Series 1010 as its carbon-composite USMC dive-watch line. Its Series 1000 is also a carbon-composite dive line, while the Series 1210 is separately identified as an automatic USMC carbon-composite dive series. Those family names matter: the PT1011 discussed here is a quartz model, and Series 1210’s automatic movement should not be attributed to it. ProTek’s collection descriptions are at its collection page.
“Marine Corps” describes the watch’s branding and product positioning; it does not, by itself, establish that the watch is issued, approved for military use, or functionally different from other dive watches. The practical comparison should be based on the specific model’s construction, movement, rating and fit.

The 300-meter figure is the manufacturer’s water-resistance rating; it is not a substitute for correct crown operation, maintenance or inspection of seals. AOS Tactical also lists Series 1010 variants with the core 42 mm, 300-meter, quartz, T25 and 22 mm-lug specifications, and describes the movement as Citizen/Miyota 2S60: AOS Tactical Series 1010 listing.
Does the T25 illumination need charging?
No charging or prior light exposure is required for the tritium illumination to glow. ProTek describes its Pro-Glo T25 system as glowing continuously for 25 years. That is the brand’s claim about the illumination system, not a promise that the entire watch will run for 25 years without service. The PT1011’s quartz movement has a separate manufacturer-stated 10-year battery life.

How it wears and performs, according to published coverage
Scuba Diving magazine’s feature reports that its reviewer read the watch in a dark studio and on a South Florida wreck dive, and comments favorably on legibility, comfort and bezel operation. On paper, the 42 mm diameter, 13.95 mm thickness and 73.2 g listed weight provide useful points of reference for fit, but wrist shape and strap adjustment affect how any watch sits. The bezel is specified as unidirectional, a layout used for dive-time tracking; the watch’s rating and features alone do not establish suitability for every dive or replace dive-computer and safety procedures.

Price and availability
ProTek’s listing showed the PT1011 at $525 and out of stock in a snapshot observed on October 8, 2026. Price and stock can change, so check the official product page for current status before buying. Scuba Diving reported a historical $450 MSRP in its 2024 feature; that older figure is not a current quote.

ProTek lists a 22 mm lug width and supplies the PT1011 with a genuine-rubber strap and steel buckle. A replacement strap should therefore be specified as 22 mm at the lugs, but width alone does not guarantee compatibility: check the exact PT1011 reference, spring-bar arrangement, strap-end shape and buckle dimensions before ordering. The available specifications do not establish that a particular aftermarket strap fits.

For a like-for-like decision, compare the exact reference and variant rather than relying on the family name: dial and strap configuration, case dimensions, movement, water-resistance rating, illumination, lug fit, and current price and stock can differ.
