The Tornek-Rayville Paradive G3 is a modern, 200-meter watch inspired by the U.S. military’s MIL-W-50717 Type I design—not an original military-issued watch. Its 41.25 mm bezel and 49.50 mm end-to-end length give it a substantial footprint, while the date or no-date dial and several bezel styles make the exact version worth checking before you buy. Tornek-Rayville listed G3 models from $949 but marked them sold out when its pages were checked in 2026.
What the Paradive G3 is—and what it isn’t
The Paradive’s reference point is MIL-W-50717 Type I, a 1970s military dive-watch specification. Tornek-Rayville describes the TR-50717 Paradive as an evolution of that specification; Fratello characterizes it as inspired by Type I. It is a contemporary interpretation, not an issued military watch.
For historical context, Fratello reported in 2023 that Benrus won the contract and estimated that about 6,000 Type I and just over 10,000 Type II watches were produced between 1972 and 1980. Those are secondary-source historical estimates, not production figures confirmed by Tornek-Rayville’s product page. Fratello’s 2023 hands-on review discusses the design and the modern watch together.
Dimensions and specifications
The current date-model product listing gives the following specifications. Dimensions and weight are Tornek-Rayville’s figures; the 200-meter water-resistance rating is stated by the maker to be verified according to ISO 6425. Tornek-Rayville’s Paradive product page is the source for these details.

How it wears
The 49.50 mm end-to-end measurement matters alongside the 41.25 mm bezel diameter: this is not a small watch, and its 15.54 mm thickness adds height on the wrist. Those numbers describe the case, not a guaranteed fit; wrist shape and strap choice affect how it sits.
Fratello reviewer Nacho Conde Garzón reported wearing the watch on a 17 cm (6.7 in) wrist in his July 2023 review. He found it wearable without feeling overly large, but said a standard NATO made it feel somewhat top-heavy. He preferred single-pass or two-piece straps. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a fit guarantee or an independent test of the G3.

Military-watch design, updated for serviceability
Tornek-Rayville says earlier Class A and B monocoque cases could be difficult to service, earlier crystals could develop stress fractures, and the two-piece stem was a vulnerability. The brand’s modern response is a three-piece case with a screw back, a solid one-piece stem, and a press-fit synthetic sapphire crystal. These are the maker’s stated design rationale, not independently tested comparisons of durability.
The watch also has a unidirectional 120-click bezel and replaceable reinforced 2.50 mm spring bars. Tornek-Rayville supplies thinner 1.80 mm bars for standard straps. The brand describes its lume as proprietary and non-radioactive. Its concept page summarizes the case design this way: “The Tornek-Rayville Paradive utilizes a proven 3 piece construction.” The product listing gives the current construction details.

Date and no-date versions, plus bezel choices
Check the exact variant rather than assuming every Paradive G3 shares the same dial, movement listing, or bezel insert. Tornek-Rayville’s collection lists Type I G3 date and non-date versions with 12-hour acrylic, 12-hour aluminum, and diver’s-inlay bezel options. The individual date-model page does not establish that every collection-page insert is available on that specific listing. The Paradive collection shows the listed configurations.
- Date version: The current product page specifies an SII NE15 automatic movement with a quickset date, hacking, and manual winding.
- Non-date version: Fratello’s 2023 review sample was a non-date model. The reviewer identified its movement as a Seiko Instruments NE15B with a 50-hour power reserve, 24 jewels, hacking, and hand-winding. He also noted that the movement still had a phantom date position. This is reporting about that reviewed sample; it should not be treated as the specification for every current variant.
- Bezel use: A 12-hour bezel is not the same as a conventional elapsed-minute dive scale. Fratello says the reviewed bezel had graduations for its first 20 minutes and that he found the 12-hour markings useful for timing tasks under an hour. The G3 collection also lists a diver’s-inlay option, so check the chosen insert rather than assuming every version uses the same scale.
Price, stock, and ordering
When checked in 2026, Tornek-Rayville’s product page displayed the date model at $949 and marked it sold out. The collection showed six G3 Type I variants, from $949, also marked sold out. Inventory and prices can change; check the collection page for current status. The individual product page’s “Next Release: 2025” label is out of date as of October 8, 2026, and should not be read as a current release commitment.

Is the Tornek-Rayville Paradive G3 worth considering?
It is a distinctive option for someone who wants a modern military-spec-inspired watch, appreciates its robust case construction, and is comfortable with a thick, substantial case. The choice is more complicated if you need a particular movement or bezel: the date and non-date versions differ, and the reviewed non-date movement’s phantom date position may matter to someone who expects a movement with no date mechanism at all. With the listings marked sold out when checked, value also depends on the current price and availability when you are ready to order.
