What is the Vanguart Orb Flying Tourbillon?
Vanguart introduced the Orb in 2024, after the brand’s earlier Black Hole Tourbillon. Specialist coverage describes the Orb as more restrained than that predecessor, while retaining a futuristic, sculptural look. Its openworked calibre is arranged around a strong visual axis: the barrel and flying tourbillon sit in view, with the peripheral winding mass tracing the movement’s outside edge.
The display is deliberately spare: luminous hour and minute hands, the flying tourbillon, and an indicator showing the selected function. The movement’s architecture is not merely decorative; the winding mass and selector are the watch’s defining mechanical feature.
How does the Orb’s winding selector work?
A selector operated through the crown lets the wearer choose among three functions. Monochrome’s technical report says the peripheral mass moves freely in automatic mode and locks in place when manual winding is selected. The selector also provides a time-setting position, with the selected function shown by an indicator. Vanguart’s 2026 catalogue describes the calibre as an “in-house levitating flying tourbillon” and lists an orbital winding mass with a diamond decoration on a titanium ring and a gold counterweight.

These are specifications reported in Monochrome’s November 2025 technical account. The strap release uses pushers at the sides of the case. Compatibility and availability of any particular replacement strap should be confirmed with Vanguart or a seller rather than assumed from the quick-change system.

How does the Orb wear?
Monochrome’s hands-on writer describes the rounded, lug-less case and integrated rubber strap as ergonomic, and says the watch wears smaller than its 41 mm diameter suggests. Those are that reviewer’s on-wrist impressions, not a universal fit guarantee. The case measures 10.5 mm thick, and its sculpted shape gives it a different wrist presence from a conventional lugged case of the same stated diameter.
What is different about the pink and blue ceramic Orb editions?
In 2026, Vanguart added two ceramic-accented versions. The April 2026 report lists the same headline movement figures as the earlier description, with the differences centered on case materials, color and limited production.

Monochrome reported CHF 150,000 for the titanium version and CHF 180,000 for the gold version in November 2025. Those figures are publication-reported reference prices, not current confirmed quotations. For the pink and blue ceramic editions, the April 2026 report gives pricing as upon request. Ask Vanguart or a confirmed authorized seller for a current regional price and availability.

What is known about Vanguart’s production?
Watchespedia’s October 2026 interview identifies Vanguart as a La Chaux-de-Fonds company founded by four partners in 2018 and says the Orb launched in 2024. CEO Axel Leuenberger told the publication that the company had produced more than 200 watches in total and was then producing around 100 watches per year. Those are company-wide figures, not Orb-specific production numbers. The interview identifies Material Good as a U.S. partner and Seddiqi in the Middle East, but does not establish live stock.
Leuenberger also said, “Machining is the one link in the chain we entrust to a partner.” In a separate September 2026 GQ Middle East interview, Vanguart president and co-founder Mehmet Koruturk described the role of craft and technology: “Watchmaking has always evolved alongside technology,” he said, adding that haute horology’s value ultimately comes from human decisions, problem-solving and careful execution.
