The BA111OD Chapter 7 Chronometer pairs a 40 mm steel case and integrated-bracelet styling with a Soprod P024 automatic movement that the brand says is certified by Geneva’s TIMELAB observatory. Its 47 mm lug-to-lug length, 10.5 mm thickness and 100 m water-resistance rating give a clearer sense of its proportions and everyday-use profile than the “sports watch” label alone. The certification is from TIMELAB, not COSC, and the stated accuracy is BA111OD’s figure rather than an independent test result.
What the Chapter 7 is—and what “chronometer” means here
Introduced in February 2025, the Chapter 7 was BA111OD’s first chronometer-certified model. The launch collection included Jet Black, Absolute Blue, Forest Green and Frost Blue dials, with steel-bracelet and rubber-strap configurations. The brand’s launch announcement describes a 40 mm steel watch rated to 100 m water resistance (BA111OD’s February 2025 Chapter 7 announcement).

BA111OD identifies the certifier as the Observatoire de Chronométrie de Genève, also referred to as TIMELAB. Fratello’s June 2025 hands-on review says TIMELAB tests each movement and supplies a performance report. Oracle Time describes testing across positions and conditions, but the protocol itself is not detailed in the available product information. Treat the certification claim as TIMELAB certification, not COSC certification; the sources identify TIMELAB, not COSC.
For the Jet Black model, BA111OD states an accuracy range of -4/+6 seconds per day and says each watch is supplied with an individual certificate and chronometry performance report. That is the manufacturer’s stated specification, not a result from an independent test of the watch.

Movement and specifications
BA111OD lists a Soprod P024 automatic movement with 25 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve. The reserve is modest by the standards of watches that run for multiple days off the wrist, so regular wear or resetting after a longer break may matter to the owner. The brand specifies a date display and a crown at 4 o’clock.

Design and wrist feel
The Chapter 7’s shape is more angular than a conventional round sports watch. Oracle Time describes its design language as drawing on 1970s integrated-bracelet sports watches: an angular case, decagonal bezel, textured dial, wedge-shaped hands, baton markers and a date at 3 o’clock. The Jet Black dial is described by BA111OD as sunray-finished with a cascading pattern and faceted luminous indexes. These are design descriptions, not a claim that every dial color has identical finishing.
Fratello reviewer Michael Stockton handled the Forest Green version on its bracelet. He found the bracelet comfortable and fluid, noted its transitions between brushed and polished surfaces, and highlighted its tool-free sliding-lever adjustment. He also singled out the dial texture and regarded the 4 o’clock crown as a matter of taste. Those are observations from his handling of that specific version, not a guarantee of fit or comfort on every wrist.
The 40 mm diameter is only part of the fit picture: the 47 mm lug-to-lug length gives a useful additional measure of how far the watch spans across the wrist. At 10.5 mm thick, it is relatively slim in profile for a watch with this styling, though individual fit depends on wrist shape and the chosen strap or bracelet. If possible, try the exact configuration you are considering; a bracelet’s feel and adjustment range can change the experience substantially.
Is it suited to everyday wear?
The listed 100 m water resistance, steel case and sapphire crystal support a practical everyday-wear role on paper. The water-resistance rating is a specification, not a blanket recommendation for every water activity, and the brand’s lifestyle language should not be read as independent proof of suitability for a particular sport. Follow the watch’s current care guidance and have water resistance checked as appropriate over time.
Bracelet and rubber versions offer different wearing experiences. On the bracelet, the tool-free micro-adjustable clasp is a useful feature for making small fit changes without a separate tool. The rubber option uses a double-folding deployant clasp. Confirm strap compatibility for the exact reference before buying a replacement or alternate strap; the collection’s appearance alone does not establish that a given strap will fit.

Chapter 7 prices have varied by date, configuration and reference. BA111OD’s February 2025 launch material listed CHF 760 for rubber-strap versions and CHF 820 for steel-bracelet versions. Fratello listed CHF 820 for rubber and CHF 880 for the bracelet when it reviewed the watch in June 2025. The current Jet Black product page displays CHF 780, while a current Frost Blue result showed CHF 840. These figures are snapshots from different dates and variants, not a single collection-wide price.

For a direct purchase, start with the relevant BA111OD reference rather than assuming a marketplace listing is for the same configuration. The brand’s Jet Black listing is the current specification and terms reference for that version.
Who should consider the Chapter 7?
- Consider it if you want an angular, integrated-bracelet-inspired design, a 40 mm case with a 47 mm lug-to-lug length, and a movement carrying TIMELAB certification as specified by BA111OD.
- Look closely at the configuration if bracelet adjustment or the choice between steel and rubber is important; clasp designs differ, and comfort is individual.
- Think twice if a longer power reserve is a priority: BA111OD lists 38 hours for the Soprod P024.
- Verify before buying if your decision depends on a precise current price, delivery estimate, duty treatment or return window, since those details vary by reference, market and date.
The evidence here supports a clear specification and a hands-on account of the Forest Green bracelet model, but not a comprehensive ranking against competitors or a market-wide claim that the Chapter 7 is the cheapest or most accurate chronometer. Its appeal is best judged against the specific fit, design and certification you want.
