The Circula ProSea is a 40 mm automatic dive watch with a 46 mm lug-to-lug length, 20 ATM water resistance, and a Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré movement. Fratello’s reviewer wore a blue example for a week and reported that it was readable in varied conditions and ran at less than +2 seconds per day on that one watch. Those observations are distinct from Circula’s published specifications and are not guarantees for every ProSea.
What the Circula ProSea adds to the range
Circula is a German watchmaker based in Pforzheim. Fratello describes the ProSea as the brand’s fourth diver and credits designer Guy Bove with its design. The watch draws on the design language of Circula’s ProTrail, while its rounded, compact case and textured dial give it a character of its own. Circula’s ProSea Black listing identifies the model as product number PS-SH-SS.
The dial texture is inspired by manta-ray skin. Fratello’s reviewer described the blue dial’s pattern as resembling small bubbles, and noted the relatively narrow bezel. The effect makes the dial more distinctive than a plain diver’s face without crowding its time display.
How it wears, according to the hands-on review
Fratello’s Gerard Nijenbrinks reported wearing a blue ProSea for a week. He found it readable in varied conditions and praised the steel bracelet clasp’s quick adjustment. These are the reviewer’s impressions of that configuration and sample, not independent test results or a promise about every wearer’s experience. The reported dimensions—40 mm across, 46 mm lug-to-lug, and 12.9 mm thick including the crystal—give prospective buyers useful reference points, but wrist shape and personal fit still matter.

The article also reports that the review watch ran at not even +2 seconds a day during the wear period. That is one reviewer’s observation about one sample, not a model-wide accuracy rating. Circula’s published regulation figure is -5/+7 seconds per day.

Bezel, lume, and practical details
Circula specifies a unidirectional diver’s bezel with 120 clicks and a ceramic insert. Fratello’s review likewise describes the insert and counterclockwise rotation. The bezel’s timing function is straightforward: align its marker with the minute hand to track elapsed time, using the bezel’s one-way movement to reduce the risk of accidentally extending the indicated interval.
The lume uses two colors. Circula specifies blue-glowing BGW9 on the hour and seconds hands and the indices, and green-glowing C3 X1 on the minute hand and bezel markings. The reviewer’s account of readability across varied conditions offers a hands-on impression, while the lume compounds and their placement are manufacturer specifications.

Strap, bracelet, and configuration choices
Circula lists the ProSea with either a hybrid rubber-and-Cordura strap or a solid steel bracelet. The bracelet has a quick-exchange system and tool-free clasp adjustment, which the Fratello reviewer praised. Both options use the stated 20 mm lug width; that measurement alone does not establish that every aftermarket strap will fit the case or work with its quick-change attachment.
Fratello names blue, petrol, and anthracite/black versions. Check the specific regional product listing for the configuration, color, and included attachment currently offered.

Price and availability depend on market and date
At the time of Fratello’s November 23, 2025 review, it reported prices of €1,090 on strap and €1,290 on the steel bracelet; WatchTime also reported those launch prices. Circula’s cited ProSea Black page displayed €1,090 including EU VAT and a 1–4 day delivery estimate. These are dated or page-displayed figures, not a guarantee of current price, stock, tax treatment, or shipping.
The official US ProSea Anthracite page displayed US$1,090 plus $99 for duties, fees, and shipping, with a 2–4 day delivery estimate when it was captured. Those are page-specific US-market terms, not universal landed costs or confirmation of current availability. Check the applicable regional listing before ordering.

What to compare before buying
The ProSea’s published dimensions and construction make it possible to compare it with other dive watches on concrete points rather than design alone. Consider:
- Fit: compare the 40 mm diameter, 46 mm lug-to-lug length, and 12.9 mm thickness including crystal with a watch whose fit you already know.
- Movement: weigh the SW200-1 Elaboré’s stated 38-hour minimum and typical 41-hour power reserve against the movement and reserve in alternatives.
- Diving features: check water-resistance rating, crown construction, bezel direction and action, and whether the bezel markings are legible in the conditions you expect to use it.
- Materials and lume: compare the ceramic bezel insert, sapphire coating, two-color lume layout, and Circula’s stated case-and-bracelet surface hardening.
- Wear configuration: factor in whether you prefer the hybrid strap or steel bracelet, and inspect clasp adjustment and attachment compatibility for your intended setup.
- Total purchase terms: confirm current regional price, taxes, duties, delivery, and stock for the exact variant.
Fratello’s review is a hands-on account of one blue watch, not a head-to-head comparison with named alternatives. It can inform expectations about that sample’s wear and readability, but it does not establish that the ProSea outperforms another model.
The design idea behind the ProSea
Fratello quotes designer Guy Bove: “Less is more, but too little is not always enough.” The line suits the ProSea’s balance of a textured dial, a relatively restrained bezel, and clearly differentiated luminous elements: a distinctive surface without sacrificing the basic cues a diver’s watch needs.
