Diversity Series is a 2023 Ace Jewelers collaboration built around one simple choice: which numeral treatment do you want to see on its blue gradient dial? The four limited editions—Western Arabic X-11, Eastern Arabic X-12, Chinese X-13 and Hebrew X-14—share the same 40.8 mm stainless-steel watch, La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement and 3 ATM water-resistance rating. The numeral style is the distinction, not a language setting or a change in the watch’s functions.
What is the ELKA Diversity Series?
ELKA founder Hakim El Kadiri and Alon Ben Joseph of Ace Jewelers created the original Diversity Series as four versions of ELKA’s X-Series platform. Each has a blue sunburst gradient dial, bright Super-LumiNova-coated numerals, a polished stainless-steel case and a domed box sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. The caseback is solid and screw-down. ELKA and Ace describe the collaboration and its variants on ELKA’s limited-edition watches page; Fratello maps the original references in its hands-on coverage.
The dial treatments are numeral scripts rather than alternate language settings. Each watch displays hours, minutes and seconds, with no visible date window.
Which original variant should you choose?
| Reference | Numeral treatment | What sets it apart |
|---|---|---|
| X-11 | Western Arabic | The familiar 1–12 numeral style often used on contemporary watches. |
| X-12 | Eastern Arabic | A distinct Arabic numeral set, not a different movement or function. |
| X-13 | Chinese | Chinese numerals give the shared blue dial its most visibly different character. |
| X-14 | Hebrew | The Hebrew version uses “60” at twelve o’clock; the other three use a double zero, according to ELKA’s 2024 brochure. |
For all four, the practical choice is the script you most enjoy reading or looking at. The creator’s intent was broader than novelty: Alon Ben Joseph explained in ELKA’s 2024 brochure that the concept grew from a Hebrew-script ELKA watch in his collection and was expanded to celebrate diversity and friendships formed through shared interests.

Dimensions, movement and everyday wear
Case and fit
The launch-era specifications list a 40.8 mm case diameter, 46.5 mm lug-to-lug length and 10.8 mm thickness. Fratello’s reviewer reported that the watch sat nicely on his 17 cm wrist; that is one wearer’s observation, not a guarantee of fit. If you can, compare the 46.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement with a watch you already wear comfortably, as well as checking the diameter.
Movement and display
The automatic La Joux-Perret G100 runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and is specified with a 68-hour power reserve and hacking seconds. The dial has no date display, although Fratello notes that the movement’s date disk remains inside. The listed functions are hours, minutes and seconds. The movement and power-reserve details are also identified by Ace Jewelers’ X-11 product page.

Water resistance
Launch coverage gives the watch a rating of 3 ATM / 30 m. That is a modest stated rating, not a claim that the watch is suitable for swimming, diving or water sports. The figure comes from reported specifications; no independent water test is established here. Treat the watch as one to keep away from water unless the seller or manufacturer confirms guidance for the particular watch.
Strap and bracelet options
The original suede strap is cognac-colored, microfiber-lined and fitted with a pin buckle. It measures 20 mm at the lugs and tapers to 18 mm at the buckle. ELKA also listed bracelet configurations. For a replacement strap, check both the 20 mm lug width and the buckle-end taper before ordering; compatibility with any particular strap or buckle is not established by the watch’s dimensions alone.

ELKA’s product information and 2023 launch coverage state that production was limited to 25 watches per dial variant. Fratello reported that seven of each variant were reserved for four-watch collector sets, leaving 18 offered individually. These are production and launch-allocation figures, not a current inventory count.

ELKA’s current limited-edition page describes the original blue Hebrew version as sold out and shows a green-gradient Hebrew X-16 continuation. That later X-16 is not the blue-dial X-14. ELKA also lists a 2025 Diversity Series II: a separate 36 mm model with 50 m water resistance and the G101 movement. Neither later watch should be confused with the original 40.8 mm, four-reference collection.

Who is the original Diversity Series for?
- Consider it if: you want a limited-edition mechanical watch whose main point of difference is an expressive numeral script, and the 40.8 mm case suits your wrist.
- Think twice if: your routine calls for a watch intended for swimming or water sports; the reported rating is only 3 ATM / 30 m.
- Check before buying: confirm the exact reference and whether the seller has the strap or bracelet configuration you want. Limited production does not establish that a particular variant is available now.
