The Hublot Classic Fusion Essential Grey 42 (reference 542.NX.5610.NR.HEC24) is a 42 mm titanium time-and-date watch with a monochromatic grey dial and hybrid rubber-and-fabric strap. In Fratello’s 2024 hands-on review, Jorg Weppelink found it light and slim-wearing, and appreciated its finishing; his main reservation was the value of its Sellita-based movement at the reported launch price.
What is the Classic Fusion Essential Grey 42?
Hublot’s US product page identifies the watch as reference 542.NX.5610.NR.HEC24. It combines a restrained time-and-date display with a grey sunray dial, titanium case and bezel, and a grey strap with fabric detailing. Its monochromatic design keeps the look quieter than many watches associated with Hublot, while the mix of brushed and polished surfaces adds contrast.

How does the 42 mm watch wear?
Fratello reviewer Jorg Weppelink reported dimensions of 42 mm across, 10.4 mm thick and 50.4 mm lug-to-lug. He described the titanium case as light and the watch as slim-wearing, and wrote, “Once on the wrist, the Classic Fusion Essential Grey wears like a charm.” Those are his impressions from wearing the watch, not a universal fit guarantee; wrist shape and personal preferences affect how a watch sits.
Weppelink liked the interplay of brushed and polished case surfaces and the visual interest of the monochromatic dial. He found the deployant clasp thick, especially when resting his wrist on a desk, although he said it was not a major issue in his experience. The textured hybrid strap can initially resemble titanium mesh, according to the review. His wish to see the watch on a mesh bracelet is a styling preference, not confirmation that a particular bracelet will fit.

What movement does it use, and why is there a reserve discrepancy?
Hublot lists a self-winding HUB1110 and an approximately 48-hour power reserve on its US product page. Weppelink’s August 2024 Fratello review describes the HUB1110 as based on the Sellita SW300-1a, with 25 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a stated 42-hour reserve. The published reserve figures differ, so they should not be treated as one settled exact figure.
Weppelink questioned the movement’s value in a watch with a reported launch-era price of €8,800. That is the reviewer’s assessment of the movement and price, rather than a specification or an independent current-price comparison. Whether the watch makes sense to a buyer also depends on the design, case finishing, fit and the price actually available.

How does it compare with the 45 mm version?
Fratello’s July 2024 introduction covered 42 mm and 45 mm versions. Its reported dimensions are:

The 45 mm figures and movement designation are from Fratello’s July 2024 introduction; the 42 mm lug-to-lug figure is also reported in its August 2024 hands-on review. The different movement designations mean the two sizes should not be assumed to be identical apart from their cases. Weppelink preferred the smaller version on his own wrist, but that is a personal fit impression. Compare how each size sits on your wrist, its proportions and the appeal of the time-and-date layout before deciding.

Price, availability and warranty
Fratello reported a €8,800 launch price for both sizes in July 2024. Time and Watches reported launch prices of CHF 7,700, €8,800 and US$8,500 on 21 August 2024. These are publication-time launch figures, not current quotations. Hublot’s retrieved US product page showed an unpopulated suggested-price field and did not establish stock, so check the brand or a local authorized seller for current pricing and availability.
Hublot’s US page says watches purchased from 1 January 2026 receive a five-year international warranty, and that Hublotista membership may extend the warranty by another five years subject to conditions. Confirm eligibility and the full terms for your market and purchase channel before buying.

For a purchase, verify that the seller is authorized and that the listing names the exact reference, 542.NX.5610.NR.HEC24. Do not assume an online listing is genuine or currently available based on the model name alone.
