In Robert-Jan Broer’s 2015 hands-on review, its size gave it conspicuous wrist presence, while its brushed titanium case and rubber strap made the large watch wearable for him. Those are observations of one sample and one wearer—not a promise of fit or a current assessment of price or availability.
What the PAM 615 is
Panerai introduced the PAM 615 and its sibling, the PAM 614, in Geneva in 2015, according to Broer’s Fratello Watches review, published August 19, 2015. The full name given in that review is Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Titanio. The PAM 615 combines a large titanium Submersible case and dive-style rotating bezel with a mechanical flyback chronograph.
Case, bezel and water resistance
Broer describes a 47 mm brushed titanium case, an engraved titanium caseback and a matte black ceramic bezel. The bezel rotates in both directions and has five-minute marks, with engraved numerals at 15, 30 and 45. The 2015 review states water resistance of 30 bar, approximately 300 metres. These specifications are reported from that review; the Panerai booklet referenced below covers a different watch, not the PAM 615.
The reviewer liked the matte-brushed finish and found the bezel solid, with no play. He also noticed two small nicks on the ceramic bezel of the particular sample he handled. He did not establish how they happened, so that observation should not be read as a general durability finding.

How the flyback chronograph works
The watch uses Panerai’s in-house P.9100 column-wheel chronograph movement. Broer reports that it has 302 components and a three-day power reserve. A flyback lets the wearer reset and restart a running chronograph with one pusher action, without stopping it first—a useful way to begin timing a new interval immediately.
The chronograph uses a central minute hand, with two subdials: running seconds at 9 o’clock and a 12-hour totalizer at 3 o’clock. The blue chronograph seconds and hour hands stand out against the black dial.

Dial and strap details
The black dial has luminous round hour markers, Arabic numerals at 12 and 6, and luminous time hands. The watch reviewed came on a black rubber strap with a titanium trapezoidal buckle in a Pre-Vendôme style. Broer noted that the broad strap contributes to the watch’s visual presence and found the rubber comfortable in warm weather.
How the 47 mm case wears
Broer found the PAM 615 manageable on his own wrist despite its 47 mm diameter, but its size and broad strap make it a watch with substantial presence. His experience does not predict how it will fit someone else: wrist shape, comfort preferences and how the case sits matter, and diameter alone cannot settle the question. As he put it: “You need to try a watch on the wrist in order to check if it is suitable for you.”

Changing the strap and caring for water resistance
In the reviewed PAM 615, small spring mechanisms at the lugs need to be pushed with a small tool to release the strap. The review does not establish that any particular generic tool is compatible. Panerai’s instruction booklet for the Luminor Submersible 1950 Regatta 3 Days GMT Automatic Titanio—a different reference—describes a supplied special strap-changing tool and recommends having an authorized retailer or Panerai Service Centre replace the strap to avoid problems from incorrect replacement. Treat that as adjacent-model guidance, not PAM 615-specific instructions.
The same booklet recommends periodic water-resistance checks at an authorized service centre and annual checks before underwater sports. Those recommendations are also from the different Regatta reference; confirm the appropriate care instructions for a PAM 615 with Panerai or an authorized service centre.

What the 2015 price does—and does not—tell you
Broer reported a suggested retail price of €16,600, approximately US$18,360 in his 2015 article, and said the price at the January 2015 introduction was €15,700. These are historical figures from that review, not current retail prices, current asking prices or independently verified valuations. Current availability by region and present-day resale value are not established here.
