The 2022 Hanhart #FliegerFriday Night Pilot took the full-lume idea beyond glowing hands and hour markers: its entire dial was coated in Super-LumiNova C3, set against a black DLC-coated case. Black printing and skeletonized hands keep the display defined, while luminous stitching on the black leather strap extends the night-time treatment beyond the dial.
What is the Hanhart Night Pilot?
Announced on September 9, 2022, the Night Pilot was the second Hanhart #FliegerFriday special edition. It followed a 2021 version with a royal-blue dial and TwinControl chronograph; the Night Pilot switched to a full-lume dial and MonoControl layout. Contemporary launch coverage places it in the 42 mm Pioneer MonoControl family. Time+Tide and Flieger Friday reported that each edition was limited to 100 pieces.
| Feature | Night Pilot | 2021 #FliegerFriday edition |
|---|---|---|
| Dial treatment | Full Super-LumiNova C3; soft white by day and green in darkness, according to Flieger Friday | Royal blue, according to launch coverage |
| Chronograph control | MonoControl: one pusher operates start, stop and reset | TwinControl, as reported by Time+Tide |
| Case and edition | 42 mm black DLC-coated steel; 100 pieces | Launch reports also describe a 42 mm DLC case and 100 pieces |
The comparison is limited to details established in the launch reports; it does not imply that the editions differ in other specifications.
How does the full-lume dial look?
Super-LumiNova C3 covers the dial rather than only its indices. Flieger Friday described its daytime appearance as soft white and its dark appearance as a strong green glow. Black dial printing and skeletonized black hands provide contrast against the light dial. Flieger Friday’s launch report and Watchonista’s contemporary report describe the luminous treatment.

There is a practical compromise: the date display is not luminous, so it breaks up the otherwise continuous glow. Time+Tide reviewer Borna Bošnjak also judged the skeletonized handset less than highly legible. Those are a reviewer’s subjective impressions, not measured visibility results. Time+Tide’s review records both observations.
What are the case and movement specifications?
The launch reports list a 42 mm diameter and 15 mm thickness for the stainless-steel case, finished in black DLC. Water resistance is reported as 10 bar/100 m. The crystal is convex sapphire with anti-reflective coating on its inner face. These are specifications reported by contemporary coverage, rather than a current product listing; Hanhart’s current PRIMUS Pilot collection page describes a different watch and should not be used to infer Night Pilot specifications.

Hanhart designated the automatic monopusher chronograph movement HAN3911. Launch coverage describes it as based on the Sellita SW500 and modified by Manufacture La Joux-Perret for the one-pusher arrangement. Flieger Friday reports 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), 28 jewels and a minimum 42-hour power reserve. Flieger Friday and Watchonista cover the movement and its configuration.
What does a monopusher change?
Rather than using separate chronograph pushers, the MonoControl layout assigns start, stop and reset to one pusher. It gives the Night Pilot a simpler control arrangement than the prior edition’s TwinControl layout, but means the wearer operates all three chronograph actions through that single control.
