The bracelet model is reference M79833MN-0001, listed at a US suggested retail price of $8,125 on TUDOR’s product page. “Root Beer” is a common nickname, not the formal product name used on TUDOR’s pages. This is a specifications and configuration overview, not a hands-on review.
What is the TUDOR Black Bay GMT S&G?
TUDOR’s formal name for the watch is Black Bay GMT S&G. “S&G” identifies the steel-and-gold treatment; the warm brown-and-black 24-hour bezel has also led to the informal “Root Beer” nickname. The bracelet configuration is reference M79833MN-0001.
TUDOR describes the watch as a steel case with polished and satin finishes, paired with yellow-gold details. The dial is black and domed, beneath a domed sapphire crystal. The bezel rotates in both directions and has 48 notches, a steel core, a 0.3 mm yellow-gold cap, and a matte brown-and-black anodised aluminium 24-hour disc. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.
How much does the Black Bay GMT S&G cost?
The following prices are the suggested retail prices displayed on TUDOR’s English-language US product pages retrieved for these references. They are US-market figures, not guaranteed transaction prices or global prices; TUDOR says prices and models may change.

How does the GMT hand work?
The Manufacture Calibre MT5652 provides a second-time-zone display. Its independently jumping local-hour hand can be moved in one-hour increments without stopping the movement, while the 24-hour hand indicates the other time zone against the bezel. The date at 3 o’clock changes instantaneously and is synchronized with the jumping-hours hand. The movement also has central minutes and seconds and a stop-seconds function.
In practical terms, the jumping hour hand is the one to adjust when changing local time, such as after travel; the 24-hour indication lets the wearer track another time zone. TUDOR specifies a bidirectional rotating bezel with 24-hour graduations for the additional time-zone indication.
