Collector Billy Denty told Fratello that he encountered the watch at auction and bought it as a sentimental memento connected to his parents and Belafonte’s music. He described Belafonte’s songs as part of his childhood summers and said he had been looking to buy something for his father. Fratello identified Denty as the owner when its feature appeared in April 2025; the available accounts do not establish who owns the watch now.

How much did the watch sell for?
Julien’s Auctions reported that the Wyler Incaflex Superior Wrist Watch sold for $2,925 in its March 26, 2025, Harry Belafonte: A Man of Action Part II auction. That is a past auction result, not a current asking price or a valuation of the watch today. Julien’s also reported that all 258 lots in the auction sold; that figure describes the sale’s lots, not demand for watches or memorabilia generally.

Fratello’s feature attributes the Wyler watchmaking factory’s founding in Basel in 1924 to brothers Paul and Victor Wyler, and says Wyler patented its flexible, shock-absorbing Incaflex balance in 1927.
