The Hermès Arceau Le Temps Voyageur is a mechanical second-time-zone watch built around a moving satellite display: a small mobile time counter travels across an illustrated fantasy map, while a circular disc indicates one of 24 time zones. The design is distinctive, but the exact watch varies by reference, size, materials, dial, and regional listing.
How the Le Temps Voyageur display works
Hermès pairs its H1837 self-winding mechanical movement with an exclusive module for the Le Temps Voyageur complication. The module moves a small satellite over the map to show a second time zone, with the selected city indicated on the display. A circular disc presents the 24 time zones. Hermès says the module contains 122 components and measures 4.4 mm thick; those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Hermès’ Arceau Le Temps Voyageur story
This is a different visual treatment of a familiar travel-watch function: a second time-zone indication. Rather than relying on a conventional extra hand alone, the watch makes the time-zone indication the focal point of the dial.
The map and the Arceau design
Henri d’Origny created the Arceau watch in 1978. For Le Temps Voyageur, Hermès uses an imaginary map designed by Jérôme Colliard for the Planisphere d’un monde équestre silk scarf. The house also connects the map to a giant globe Colliard created for the 2016 Saut Hermès show-jumping competition in Paris. Hermès’ Arceau Le Temps Voyageur story

What changed in the collection in 2025
Hermès International’s 2025 Universal Registration Document, published in 2026, says the collection gained a 38 mm rose-gold version and a 41 mm white-gold version in 2025. The document characterizes the complication as a reworking of the classic GMT or second-time-zone function, with an aesthetic inspired by universal time. These additions are separate from the steel and platinum/titanium examples above; regional availability should be confirmed on the relevant Hermès listing. Hermès International publications

What to check before choosing a version
- Reference and region: Match the model code to the country-specific product page, since listings and availability differ.
- Size and case treatment: The reviewed listings include 38 mm steel and a 41 mm platinum, titanium, and DLC combination; the 2025 company report also identifies gold additions.
- Dial and strap: Confirm the map/dial color, strap material and color, and strap length on the exact listing.
- Practical fit: Case diameter alone cannot establish how the watch will wear. Wrist fit, legibility, comfort, and visual preference require an in-person assessment; no independent wear or accuracy testing is established here.
For a mechanical travel watch, the key appeal is therefore not simply another time-zone hand. It is the pairing of an H1837 automatic movement with a dedicated mobile display, presented differently across case and dial configurations. The official specifications cited here establish the design and listed features, not real-world accuracy, durability, or comfort.
