Holthinrichs’ Signature Ornament and Signature LAB share the same sculptural design language, but differ in how their cases are made and how far each model pushes material experimentation. The 2024 Ornament launch established the collection’s compact titanium proportions; later LAB editions have explored 3D-printed cases, copper patina, relief work and gold leaf. Specs, edition sizes and prices vary by reference, so the details below are tied to their original reports.
How the Ornament and LAB lines relate
Holthinrichs founder Michiel Holthinrichs is an architect by trade. He has described the collection’s flowing lugs as drawing on Art Nouveau architecture and classic-car fenders. The result is a case silhouette that is central to both lines, rather than a conventional round watch with its lugs treated as an afterthought.
In a September 2026 interview, Holthinrichs described the brand’s intended distinction this way: “One will feature our Signature Ornament and Signature Ornament LAB lines. These are about design and material expression first. They are our most accessible models and are meant to really spread brand awareness and our identity.” That is his characterization of the lines, not a guarantee about future prices or product policy. What is the difference between the Signature Ornament and LAB?
| Feature | Signature Ornament | Signature LAB |
|---|---|---|
| Case production | Grade 5 titanium, CNC machined, with raw and brushed finishes, as reported for the 2024 launch. Fratello, 2024 | Grade 5 titanium, 3D printed and manually finished, as reported for the original 2024 LAB. Later LAB releases have their own specifications. Fratello, 2024 |
| Case character | Flowing lugs and concave bezel and case band. | The same sculptural direction, with skeletonized flowing lugs on the first LAB concept. |
| Dial direction | Launch options included precious-metal, rhodium and white ceramic dials. | Experimental treatments, including patinated copper, relief and, on LAB Series 1.24, hand-applied gold leaf. |
| Edition size | No limited quantity stated in the 2024 launch report. | Varies by reference: the original 2024 LAB was 30 pieces; 1.24 was reported as 79 pieces; a retailer described 1.GMT as 100 pieces. |
| Price information | 2024 launch prices were €3,500 for metal dials and €3,750 for ceramic, excluding VAT. | The original LAB price was not announced in the 2024 report. LAB Series 1.24 was listed at €5,900 excluding VAT in its 2025 release. |
These are not interchangeable specifications for every watch carrying the Ornament or LAB name. In particular, the prices are historical launch figures, not confirmed current offers.

The ceramic Delft Blue version used blue printed branding and Breguet numerals, referencing Delft pottery. At launch, reported prices were €3,500 for metal dials and €3,750 for ceramic, both excluding VAT; these figures do not establish today’s price or availability.
Signature LAB: case making and material experiments
The first LAB concept
The first Signature Lab Series, announced in 2024, retained the reported 38.5 mm diameter, 46 mm lug-to-lug and Grade 5 titanium but changed the case process: it was 3D printed and manually finished, with skeletonized flowing lugs. Its patinated copper dial further separated it from the Ornament’s launch dial range. Fratello reported an edition of 30 pieces. The initial announcement did not yet state a price, so the later price of another LAB edition should not be read as the price of this first series. Fratello, 2024

LAB Series 1.S and 1.GMT
Europa Star reported new LAB Series 1.S and 1.GMT models in April 2026, with copper-oxide patina dials and what the release calls the brand’s most challenging reliefs to date. Separately, Collective Horology described the 1.GMT as a 100-piece edition with summer 2026 deliveries. That retailer listing is a model-specific report, not confirmation of current stock or production status. Europa Star’s 2026 release · Collective Horology listing
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to compare a specific reference
- Check the case process. The 2024 Ornament was reported as CNC machined; the initial LAB and later editions use 3D-printed, manually finished cases. Do not assume every later reference has identical construction or finishing.
- Compare dimensions on the exact model. The 2024 launch Ornament and first LAB share reported diameter and lug-to-lug figures, while 1.24 also specifies thickness both with and without its crystal and gives a strapless weight.
- Look closely at the dial treatment. Ornament launched with metal and ceramic choices; LAB dials are more experimental, including patina, relief and gold leaf. These descriptions establish design differences, not comparative legibility or durability.
- Keep edition counts attached to their references. The initial LAB, 1.24 and 1.GMT have separate reported quantities and sources; one edition’s figure does not apply to another.
- Verify ownership terms directly. The cited reports do not establish current regional stock, warranty or servicing terms. Confirm those details, along with taxes and delivery, with Holthinrichs or the seller before ordering.
Price and availability: treat launch figures as historical
The 2024 Ornament launch pricing was quoted in euros excluding VAT; LAB Series 1.24’s 2025 release also quoted a euro price excluding VAT. They are dated figures from different models and release moments, not a direct current price comparison. A retailer listing has also shown US-dollar prices for several models, but those listings can change. Confirm the price, applicable taxes and whether the exact reference is available in your market before relying on any online listing. Collective Horology’s Holthinrichs listings

Are the Ornament and LAB collections established by sales statistics?
The cited coverage does not provide an independently published sales, market-size or performance statistic specific to these collections. What is published here is product information such as dimensions, movement details and edition quantities; those figures should not be mistaken for evidence of sales or market demand.
If considering a replacement strap for LAB Series 1.24, its listed sizing is 20/16 mm. Check the exact watch’s lug attachment and buckle dimensions before buying; that specification does not establish fit across all Holthinrichs references.
