Samsung also lists up to 48 hours in the separate Exercise Power Saving mode. These are mode-specific maximums, not a universal everyday-runtime guarantee.
What does Samsung’s 100-hour battery claim mean?
Samsung announced up to 100 hours with Power Saving mode enabled. That is the longest advertised figure, and the mode limits functions compared with a full-feature smartwatch profile. Samsung describes the Ultra as having “the longest battery life within the Galaxy Watch line-up” in its 2024 announcement.
The watch is the 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra, with a typical 590mAh battery. Samsung’s corporate specification report identifies the capacity and lists the Exynos W1000 platform, Wear OS 5 and dual-frequency GPS.

Will it last 100 hours in normal use?
Samsung’s published figures do not establish a single runtime for everyday use with the watch’s full feature set. Actual battery life can vary with LTE use, always-on display, GPS tracking, health sensors, notifications and how often you work out. The 100-hour figure should therefore be read as a conditional maximum, not as a promise that every owner will get four days of typical use.

For a comparison with another watch, match the modes and workload: a Power Saving estimate is not directly comparable to a standard-use estimate or a GPS workout figure. Battery capacity and case size, GPS and workout requirements, display and connectivity settings, and outdoor durability features also help put the comparison in context.

The Ultra combines a 47mm titanium case with dual-frequency GPS and fitness features, according to Samsung’s product announcement and specification report. GPS workouts and connected features can change how quickly a watch uses power, so the mode and settings matter as much as the battery-capacity figure when estimating runtime.
