Yes—you can adjust the Google Pixel Watch 2’s vibration strength from the watch itself. Open Settings → Vibration, then choose the alert category you want to change. Depending on the Wear OS version, separate controls may be available for incoming calls, app notifications, alarms, and touch or system feedback.
Change Pixel Watch 2 vibration intensity
- Wake the Pixel Watch 2.
- Open the app launcher or swipe down and tap Settings.
- Tap Vibration.
- Choose the category you want to adjust, such as Ring vibration, Notification vibration, Alarm vibration, or Touch feedback/System haptics, if shown.
- Select the available intensity or adjust the control.
The change should apply to future alerts. Google’s help documentation lists these categories, but the exact labels and available controls can vary by Wear OS release and software build. See Google’s Pixel Watch accessibility guidance for the current menu description.

Make notifications stronger or weaker
For app alerts, use Settings → Vibration → Notification vibration. This changes the haptic response for notifications that actually reach the watch; it does not override notification permissions, watch modes, or phone-side notification controls.
To decide which apps can send alerts to the watch, open the Google Pixel Watch app → Settings → Notifications → App Notifications on your phone. Google documents this separately from vibration intensity in its guide to alarms and notifications on Pixel Watch.
#1 Best Overall
- The Pixel Watch 2 comes with three new advanced sensors for heart rate tracking, skin temperature, and stress management[1,2]; 100% recycled light aluminum housing makes it comfortable to wear[3]
- The all-new heart rate sensor and Google AI combine for Fitbit’s most spot-on heart rate tracking yet[4], so you can get more precise health and fitness info[5]
- Go even longer with the enhanced 24-hour battery and always-on display[6,7]; charge for 75 minutes to get a full day of battery life[8]
- Identify potential signs of stress with Fitbit’s body-response feature, so you can manage it in the moment[5]; and track variations in your skin temperature, blood oxygen levels, and sleep to help you spot possible changes[5,9,10]
- Get help with Emergency SOS and Fall Detection if you’re feeling unsafe or if you’ve had a hard fall[11,12]; and Safety Check alerts your close contacts if you don’t respond to a set check-in timer[13]
Change call vibration
Incoming calls use a separate control: Settings → Vibration → Ring vibration. This means call haptics and app-notification haptics can have different settings. A strong call vibration does not necessarily make notification vibration stronger.
Adjust alarm vibration
For general alarm intensity, use Settings → Vibration → Alarm vibration. That is different from deciding whether an individual alarm vibrates at all.

To change one alarm:
- Open the watch’s Alarm app.
- Tap the alarm you want to edit.
- Turn that alarm’s vibration on or off.
If your alarm is synchronized between a compatible Pixel phone and watch, phone-watch alarm settings can also affect where it rings. Google describes synchronized alarms and Adaptive Ringing in its alarm-sync guidance.

Can you change the vibration pattern?
Google’s accessibility documentation indicates that vibration strength or pattern options may be available, but it does not promise the same pattern controls on every Pixel Watch model, software build, or alert type. Treat intensity controls as the dependable option. If your Pixel Watch 2 does not show pattern choices, that may be normal for its installed software.

If the vibration still feels weak or does not happen
Changing the intensity cannot fix an alert that is blocked before it reaches the watch. Work through these checks:
- Fit: Wear the watch securely enough to maintain consistent skin contact. A loose band can make the same haptic feel less noticeable.
- Wearing detection: Check whether the watch is set to silence itself when it is not being worn.
- Modes: Temporarily disable Bedtime, Do Not Disturb, and Theater mode. These can suppress notifications or silence incoming calls.
- App access: Confirm the app is enabled under Google Pixel Watch app → Notifications → App Notifications.
- Connection: Check that the watch and phone are connected when the alert depends on the phone.
- Software: Install pending phone, watch, and app updates, then restart both devices.
Google’s Pixel Watch notification troubleshooting guide covers wearing detection, watch modes, connection, and software checks.

Repeated notifications may be reduced by Notification cooldown
On phones running Android 16 or newer, Notification cooldown can mute notifications and reduce haptics after many alerts arrive from the same conversation or app in a short time. This is a phone notification-management feature, not a Pixel Watch vibration-level setting.
Recommended Free Tools
To test it, open the phone’s Settings → Notifications → General → Notification cooldown, then temporarily turn off Use notification cooldown. The option may not appear on every Android version.
Do not confuse phone and watch vibration settings
Pixel phone vibration settings are found under Phone Settings → Sound & vibration → Vibrations & haptics. Those controls affect the phone’s own vibration behavior; they do not directly set the Pixel Watch 2’s haptic intensity. Adjust the watch through Settings → Vibration on the watch.
A quick troubleshooting decision tree
- Want stronger or weaker haptics? Open Settings → Vibration.
- Only calls, notifications, or alarms are affected? Adjust that category separately.
- No vibration at all? Check watch modes, wearing detection, app permissions, and the phone-watch connection.
- Repeated alerts suddenly feel weaker? Check Android 16 or newer’s Notification cooldown.
- Only one alarm fails? Check that alarm’s own vibration switch in the Alarm app.
If a newly created alarm produces no haptic feedback at any available intensity—and the watch remains worn, updated, and outside the suppressing modes—the problem may be software- or hardware-related rather than a vibration-setting issue.
