Choose Fahrenheit as the preferred unit. The exact labels can vary by watch, app version, software version, or region; this is Samsung’s documented US path.
Change Celsius to Fahrenheit with a Galaxy phone

Open the Galaxy Wearable app on the paired phone.

Tap Watch settings.

Open Apps → Weather → App settings → Settings.

Choose Fahrenheit as the preferred temperature unit.
Samsung documents this setting in the Weather app settings managed through Galaxy Wearable. Its US support instructions for updating Galaxy Watch weather also point to that area for auto-refresh and location preferences.

Change the unit using an iPhone
Samsung documents a separate route for iPhone users: open the Galaxy Watch app, then go to Apps → Weather → Settings and change the preferred unit. Samsung says this iOS app path applies to the original Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Watch Active, and Galaxy Watch Active2.
If a watch face still shows Celsius
A watch face may use its own temperature-unit control rather than the Weather app preference. Samsung’s 2019 Galaxy Watch Designer tutorial demonstrates a custom-face selector that cycles among Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin; the accompanying Weather developer tutorial covers weather elements for watch faces. These are designer resources, not alternate general instructions for changing the Weather app setting. If only one face continues to show Celsius, check that face’s settings or use a face with a Fahrenheit option; the available controls depend on the face.

If the preference does not stay on Fahrenheit
If the watch returns to Celsius, reopen the documented Weather settings and check which unit is selected. A January 2025 Samsung Community post describes one Watch4 user whose Fahrenheit preference reverted after a software update, but a single user report does not establish a widespread problem or a confirmed fix.
