On Apple Watch, open Activity and tap Weekly Summary. On iPhone, Apple’s current Fitness app documentation does not show an identical one-tap Weekly Summary screen; instead, open Fitness → Summary → Activity rings → Calendar and select the dates you want to review.
Check the weekly summary on Apple Watch
- Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch.
- Return to the app’s main screen if you are currently viewing an individual ring or metric.
- Tap Weekly Summary. Depending on your watchOS version, display size, or language, this may appear with a smaller icon or translated label rather than as a prominent text button.
Apple describes Weekly Summary as a view of your progress toward closing the Activity rings. It includes a daily average and a weekly total; Apple’s watchOS documentation also identifies Move, Exercise, and Stand totals in the weekly view. The exact presentation can vary by watchOS version and device.
Use the screen to see how consistently you met your daily goals, where you exceeded a goal, and how your ring completion was distributed across the week. It is a fitness and wellness summary, not a medical assessment or diagnosis. Apple states that Apple Watch is not a medical device. Apple’s Activity guide provides the current feature details.
If wheelchair use is configured, Apple may show a Roll ring instead of the Stand ring.

Review the same week on iPhone
The iPhone is more useful when you need to inspect individual days or reconstruct an earlier week:
- Open the Fitness app.
- Tap Summary.
- Tap the Activity rings card.
- Tap the Calendar button.
- Select a date from the week you want to inspect.
- Repeat for the other dates in that week.
This calendar route shows daily Activity-ring results and related details. It does not necessarily reproduce the Apple Watch’s single dedicated Weekly Summary screen. For a previous week, selecting its dates in the calendar is the safer documented method rather than assuming every watchOS version provides an archive of past weekly reports. See Apple’s Fitness guide for iPhone.

Weekly Summary, Activity history, and Trends
| Feature | Where to find it | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly Summary | Activity on Apple Watch | A quick view of weekly ring progress, daily averages, and weekly totals. |
| Activity history | Fitness on iPhone | Choosing individual dates and reviewing daily ring results. |
| Trends | Fitness on iPhone | Long-term comparisons rather than a seven-day report. |
| Sessions | Fitness on iPhone or Activity on Apple Watch | Reviewing individual workouts and their metrics. |
| Awards | Fitness on iPhone or Activity on Apple Watch | Checking achievements, streaks, and milestones. |
Trends compare your most recent 90 days with the preceding 365-day baseline. They normally do not appear until Apple has at least 180 days of recorded activity, so Trends is not a substitute for a weekly summary.
Find workouts, steps, distance, and awards
In Fitness, the Summary tab can also include cards for steps, walking distance, sessions, awards, and Trends. Tap the relevant card for more detail. Weekly Summary itself is focused on Activity-ring progress, not every metric recorded by Apple Watch or iPhone.

An iPhone can record certain movement information when you carry it, including steps, walking distance, flights climbed, and estimated active calories. With an Apple Watch connected, Fitness can also display Exercise and Stand rings. Compatible third-party workout apps may contribute to Activity progress, but the exact metrics and calculations depend on the app, its permissions, and its integration with Apple’s health and fitness systems.
Why Weekly Summary or activity data may be missing
- You are looking in Fitness on iPhone: Apple’s current iPhone guide documents daily history and Trends rather than a dedicated control called Weekly Summary. Use the Activity rings calendar.
- You are not on Activity’s main screen: Return to the main Activity view and look for Weekly Summary.
- The label or layout is different: WatchOS interfaces vary by software version, display size, language, and region. Look for the equivalent translated label or summary icon.
- The Watch was not worn consistently: Watch-recorded ring data depends on wearing and using the Watch during the relevant activity.
- The iPhone was not carried: iPhone-only movement data depends on carrying the phone.
- A third-party workout is incomplete: Compatible apps may contribute to Activity, but not all apps provide the same metrics or integration.
- Data has not populated or synced yet: Recently recorded activity may not be visible immediately. Recheck the relevant date after the devices have had time to update.
Do not assume that missing Exercise or Stand data means the entire week is missing. Check each date in the iPhone calendar and distinguish between Watch-recorded activity, iPhone-recorded movement, and workouts imported from compatible apps.

Adjust or pause Activity goals
Weekly review is separate from changing your goals. Apple can notify you on Monday about the previous week’s achievements and may suggest goals for the next week based on earlier performance. You can inspect Weekly Summary without accepting those suggestions.
If illness, injury, travel, or a schedule change makes your rings impractical, Apple’s current Watch guide allows you to pause them for up to 90 days without breaking an award streak:

Frequently Asked Questions
Does iPhone have the same Weekly Summary button as Apple Watch?
Apple’s current iPhone documentation does not describe a dedicated control with that name. Use Fitness → Summary → Activity rings → Calendar to inspect the week day by day.
Can I check Activity without an Apple Watch?
Yes. When you carry the iPhone, it can record steps, walking distance, flights climbed, and estimated active calories. Exercise and Stand rings require an Apple Watch connection.
What is the difference between Activity history and Trends?
Activity history lets you select individual dates and review daily results. Trends compare the latest 90 days with the previous 365-day baseline and require 180 days of recorded activity.
