Choose a Fitbit by how you plan to wear and use it: decide between a slim tracker and a watch-style device, check whether you need GPS that works without your phone, and consider how often you are willing to charge. Then confirm that the model is sold in your country and that the app features you want are included rather than tied to Fitbit Premium.
Start with the way you will wear it
A fitness tracker is most useful when it feels comfortable enough to wear through workouts and the rest of the day. Fitbit’s lineup includes tracker and smartwatch-style choices, and its official site provides a comparison tool to help narrow them down. Check the current lineup for your country before choosing: availability and specifications can vary or change.

Choose a slim tracker for a low-profile fit
If you want a smaller device on your wrist, compare tracker-style models such as the Fitbit Inspire 3 and Charge 6. Think about whether the screen is large and readable enough for you to check during exercise, and whether you expect to use it mainly for activity and health information or also for notifications.

Choose a watch-style device if its larger display matters to you
A watch-style design may suit you better if you prefer a more prominent screen for checking information at a glance. Compare the current product pages rather than assuming that a larger device has a particular feature or longer battery life; those details depend on the exact model.

Do you need GPS without your phone?
GPS is an important distinction if you track outdoor walks or runs. Fitbit describes the Inspire 3 as using connected GPS, which relies on a phone. If you want to leave your phone behind, verify that the exact Fitbit you are considering has built-in GPS. Do not infer GPS capabilities from a model’s name or appearance; check its current official product listing for your market.
How often are you willing to charge?
Fitbit advertises up to 10 days of battery life for the Inspire 3, but says actual life varies with use and other factors. Treat this as a manufacturer estimate, not a guarantee of how long your device will last between charges. Features such as GPS use and an always-on display can affect the charging experience, so check model-specific battery guidance before comparing devices.

Check what the app feature requires
Buying the device does not necessarily unlock every Fitbit app feature. Fitbit’s Inspire 3 product material identifies Daily Readiness and Sleep Profile among features that require Fitbit Premium. If those are important to your routine, confirm the current membership requirements and availability for your country before buying.
Confirm compatibility, availability, and band fit
- Local availability: Check Fitbit’s official product lineup for your country; a model or feature may not be offered everywhere.
- Phone compatibility: Verify that your phone and operating system are compatible with the device and Fitbit app.
- Replacement bands and accessories: Confirm compatibility with your exact model and generation. A band that fits one Fitbit does not necessarily fit another.
Use wellness metrics as information, not diagnosis
Some Fitbit metrics and features may not be available in every market. Fitbit also notes that certain features are not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions. If you are choosing a device to monitor a health concern, treat its metrics as general wellness information rather than a substitute for medical advice.

A quick decision checklist

- Set your GPS requirement: If you plan to exercise without your phone, confirm built-in GPS on the exact model’s official listing.
- Check charging expectations: Compare model-specific battery guidance, keeping in mind that advertised estimates vary with use.
- Review app dependencies: Look for Premium requirements on any features you expect to use.
- Verify before buying: Confirm local availability, phone compatibility, and accessory fit for the exact model.
