Choose an OMEGA Seamaster by the way you plan to wear it: the Aqua Terra is the versatile everyday sport-watch option, the Diver 300M offers the classic rotating-bezel dive-watch look, and the Planet Ocean is the more technically specified deep-water diver in the examples covered here. Then compare the exact reference—not just its family name—for size, water resistance, movement, dial and strap or bracelet.
Which Seamaster family fits your use?
OMEGA’s collection also includes the Seamaster 300, Railmaster and Ploprof 1200M. The three families below are useful starting points because recent OMEGA releases and product materials provide concrete examples for each. The Seamaster 300 and Diver 300M are separate collection names, despite the similar wording.

Aqua Terra: an everyday sport watch
The Aqua Terra has a cleaner dial than a conventional dive watch and suits buyers who want a sport watch for varied everyday wear. Recent examples show how much specifications can differ even within one family: a 2025 turquoise release includes 38 mm and 41 mm versions, rated to 150 m / 500 ft. The 38 mm model uses Calibre 8800 with a stated 55-hour power reserve; the 41 mm uses Calibre 8900 with a stated 60-hour reserve. OMEGA says the movements in that release resist magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss and carry METAS certification. See OMEGA’s 2025 Aqua Terra turquoise release.

Choose the Diver 300M if you want a rotating dive bezel and recognizable dive-watch details. OMEGA’s 2024 launch described 42 mm versions with domed sapphire crystals, mesh-bracelet or rubber-strap configurations, and Calibre 8806. The release identifies the helium escape valve, bezel diving scale, skeletonized hands and wave-pattern dial as defining features. OMEGA says the first Diver 300M was released in 1993; its description of the watch as “one of OMEGA’s most recognizable and popular ocean timepieces” is the company’s characterization, not an independent popularity measurement. Planet Ocean: a deeper-rated dive-watch profile
The Planet Ocean is the more technically specified deep-water dive-watch family among these examples. OMEGA announced its fourth generation in November 2025, describing seven watches and three watch heads. One manual, for reference 217.32.42.21.01.001, specifies a 42 mm case, 600 m / 60 bar water resistance, automatic Calibre 8912 and a 60-hour power reserve. Those specifications belong to that reference; they should not be assumed for every Planet Ocean. Consult OMEGA’s Planet Ocean information.
Compare exact references, not just collection names
Use family names to narrow the choice, then verify the particular reference. OMEGA’s 2024 black-dial Aqua Terra release, for example, spans 34, 38 and 41 mm, while the 2025 turquoise examples are 38 and 41 mm. The black-dial variants also differ in dial layout: the 34 mm version has a round date window and sailboat-shaped indexes; the 38 mm and 41 mm versions have trapezoidal date windows and triangular indexes. See OMEGA’s black-dial Aqua Terra release.

| Buying factor | Examples established by OMEGA | How to apply it |
|---|---|---|
| Case diameter | Aqua Terra examples: 34, 38 and 41 mm in the 2024 black-dial release; 38 and 41 mm in the 2025 turquoise release. Cited Diver 300M and Planet Ocean examples: 42 mm. | Shortlist by diameter, then try the exact reference if possible. Diameter alone does not capture how the case, bezel or bracelet wears on your wrist. |
| Water resistance | The cited Aqua Terra turquoise release is rated 150 m / 15 bar. The Diver 300M is a 300 m dive-watch line. The cited Planet Ocean manual reference is rated 600 m / 60 bar. | Match the exact model’s rating to your intended use. A rating alone is not an individual diving recommendation. |
| Movement and reserve | Aqua Terra 38 mm turquoise example: Calibre 8800, 55 hours. Aqua Terra 41 mm turquoise example: Calibre 8900, 60 hours. Cited Diver 300M: Calibre 8806. Cited Planet Ocean manual reference: Calibre 8912, 60 hours. | Check the calibre and stated reserve for the precise reference; specifications vary by model and generation. |
| Certification and magnetic resistance | OMEGA describes the cited Aqua Terra turquoise movements as METAS certified and resistant to fields up to 15,000 gauss. The referenced Diver 300M and Planet Ocean releases are also described as Master Chronometer models. | Treat certification as a model-specific attribute, particularly when comparing a new watch with an older or pre-owned reference. |
| Bracelet or strap | The cited Diver 300M release offers mesh-bracelet or rubber-strap versions. The cited Aqua Terra turquoise release uses an integrated black rubber strap. | Choose for comfort and appearance, and confirm the exact reference and attachment system before buying another strap. |
| Dial and bezel | The Aqua Terra black-dial layouts vary by size. The Diver 300M and cited Planet Ocean examples have rotating dive bezels. | Check photographs and the reference number if a particular dial detail or bezel matters to you. |
Use size as a shortlist, then judge fit in person
The examples here range from 34 mm Aqua Terra models to 42 mm Diver 300M and Planet Ocean references. That makes case diameter a useful first filter, but not a complete fit test: the diameter does not by itself tell you how a case, bezel, thickness or bracelet will sit on your wrist. If fit is a priority, try the exact reference rather than relying on a photograph or another watch in the same family.
Check the reference before buying
- Choose your use and preferred design. Decide whether you want an everyday sport watch, a dive-watch look with a rotating bezel, or the deeper-rated Planet Ocean profile.
- Narrow by size. Use diameter to make an initial shortlist, then try the exact reference if possible.
- Verify the specification. Check water resistance, movement, power reserve and certification on the official product page or in the manual for that reference.
- Select the configuration. Compare the dial, bezel, bracelet or strap. Confirm fit and attachment compatibility before purchasing accessories.
- For a pre-owned watch, verify its identity and condition independently. The cited sources do not establish market value, service history or authenticity-check procedures, so do not infer those from the collection name alone.
OMEGA’s official launch materials describe particular new releases, not regional stock or current prices. Availability and configurations can vary; check the exact reference, local warranty, seller status and price where you plan to buy.

Follow the manufacturer’s care guidance
OMEGA’s manual recommends an annual water-resistance test at an authorized OMEGA service centre, rinsing the watch in fresh water after swimming in the sea, and not handling the crown in water. A stated water-resistance rating does not mean a watch will remain waterproof indefinitely. Read OMEGA’s user manuals.
