The OMEGA Seamaster most naturally described as the “James Bond villain watch” is the 2026 Seamaster Diver 300M Spectre edition, reference 210.30.42.20.01.023. “Villain watch” is an informal description; OMEGA calls it the Spectre edition. Its black ceramic bezel ring and blackened grained dial distinguish it from the collection’s separately sold blue-dial James Bond edition.
Which OMEGA Seamaster is the “villain watch”?
The phrase points to the steel Spectre edition in OMEGA’s James Bond and Spectre Seamaster Diver 300M collection, announced for availability from October 5, 2026. Its reference number is 210.30.42.20.01.023. OMEGA presented it as the Spectre-branded counterpart to a James Bond edition—not as one of the historical Seamasters it identifies as worn by Bond on screen. OMEGA’s collection announcement names boutiques and its online store as the announced sales channels; that date does not confirm present stock.

How does the Spectre edition differ from the Bond edition?
The two individually sold steel watches share a 42 mm case, brushed mesh bracelet and OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8806. Their most visible differences are branding, bezel material and dial treatment.
| Model | Reference | Bezel and dial | Sale format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seamaster Diver 300M Spectre edition | 210.30.42.20.01.023 | Black ceramic bezel ring; blackened grained dial | Individually sold steel watch |
| Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond edition | 210.30.42.20.03.004 | Grade 5 titanium bezel ring; blue aluminum dial laser-engraved with a wave pattern | Individually sold steel watch |
Both models use the same movement, case size and bracelet configuration according to OMEGA’s announcement. The published details establish a design distinction, not a performance advantage for either watch.

What is included in the limited-edition sets?
OMEGA also announced a James Bond set and a Spectre set. Each is limited to 77 numbered sets and pairs a steel watch with a platinum-gold model. Those watches are not sold separately as part of these set editions. The Spectre platinum-gold watch has a dark-grey dial with an octopus design. Both sets include an additional NATO strap and strap-changing tool, among other presentation items; these extras should not be assumed to come with the individually sold steel Spectre watch.

No. The 2026 watch is a new Spectre-branded release, not the Seamaster worn by a character in the 2015 film Spectre. OMEGA says Bond first wore a Seamaster in GoldenEye (1995); its cited screen-worn examples include a Seamaster Diver 300M in Casino Royale (2006) and a Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M in Skyfall (2012). OMEGA also released a Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M limited edition ahead of Spectre in 2015. These are separate watches and releases. See OMEGA’s account of its Bond and Spectre history and the James Bond 007 announcement about the 2017 Bond-inspired watch.

There is a broader design connection: OMEGA says its 2024 Diver 300M range drew inspiration from the 007 Edition worn in No Time To Die, including domed sapphire crystal and mesh-bracelet styling. That lineage does not make every later mesh-bracelet Seamaster a film-used watch. OMEGA’s 2024 range announcement describes that design context.
