Casio’s square 5600/5000 family is a natural starting point for a classic digital layout; the 2100 family pairs analog hands with digital information. Within either family, specifications vary by model, so compare full model codes rather than assuming all versions share the same features.
Choose the display style first
5600/5000: square digital
Casio describes the 5600/5000 line as its square-watch family. It suits someone who wants a straightforward digital display. The family is a starting point, not a guarantee of identical dimensions or features across models. See Casio’s 5600 series.

2100: analog-digital
The 2100 family combines hands with digital information. Casio describes the GA-2100 as carrying forward the first-generation DW-5000C concept in a thinner construction. Choose this format if you prefer hands at a glance as well as digital functions; check the specific variant for its details. See the GA-2100-1A1 specifications.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCompare the exact dimensions and weight
Family names and product photos do not tell the whole fit story. Casio’s listed specifications for these two representative models show that the GA-2100-1A1 is thinner and lighter, while the DW-5600BCE-1 is narrower. Case shape, strap, and your wrist also affect how a watch feels; the figures are a useful first filter, not a promise of personal comfort.

Decide whether solar charging or automatic adjustment matters
Do not infer ownership features from the family name. Casio’s Japanese 5600 comparison distinguishes basic, solar-powered, metal-covered, and full-metal variants, with model-specific differences in size, weight, and connectivity. The GA-B2100 listing, for example, identifies Bluetooth connectivity and solar charging. Those features belong to selected models, not every 5600 or 2100.

If reducing battery changes or having time adjustment handled automatically matters to you, verify the full model code and the specification page for your region. Check separately whether that exact watch offers solar charging, Bluetooth, or radio time reception; these are distinct features. Casio’s Japanese 5600 comparison and the GA-B2100-1A listing illustrate why variant-level checking matters.
Check daily usability, band, and appearance
Think about whether you can read the display easily, whether you want hands or digital numerals, and whether the controls and illumination suit your routine. Then weigh case thickness, band material, and color alongside the technical specifications. Casio’s US series page provides filters for price, weight, color, solar charging, time-adjustment methods, and band material; local price and availability can vary.
