Pair the Garmin epix Pro (Gen 2) through the Garmin Connect app, not by starting in your phone’s Bluetooth menu. For a new phone, remove the watch from the old phone if possible, put the watch into pairing mode, then add it in Garmin Connect and follow the prompts. If a watch that was already paired stops connecting or syncing, restart both devices and check Bluetooth, power modes, other paired phones, and updates before removing and re-adding it.

Pair the epix Pro (Gen 2) with a new phone

If the watch was connected to another phone, Garmin recommends removing it from that phone’s Garmin Connect app and Bluetooth settings first, if you still have access. Turn off the old phone afterward so it cannot try to reconnect during setup. Garmin recommends pairing a watch with only one smartphone or tablet at a time for optimal Bluetooth performance.

  4. When Garmin Connect finds the watch, follow the prompts. On Android, the app may ask you to select the device and enter the six-digit code shown on the watch. On iOS, the app finds nearby accessories and asks you to confirm the code.

  5. Finish the setup in Garmin Connect and allow the initial sync to complete. Do not begin by selecting the watch in the phone’s Bluetooth settings; Garmin’s pairing-failure guidance directs users to pair through Garmin Connect, which adds the watch as a Bluetooth device.

If the watch is not found or pairing fails

Try these checks in order, returning to the Garmin Connect add-device flow after each relevant change.

  1. Restart the phone and watch. Garmin Customer Support says many Bluetooth issues can be solved by restarting both. You can also turn the phone’s Bluetooth off and back on before trying again.

  2. Check the pairing code. If prompted for a code, make sure the six digits shown on the watch match the code displayed or requested by the phone.

If the watch is paired but will not connect or sync

Start with the basic connection checks rather than immediately removing the watch from the app.

If the problem persists, check Garmin’s current app compatibility requirements for your phone rather than relying on a minimum iOS or Android version that may have changed.

Remove and add the watch again as a last resort

Re-pairing is a later step if restarting, checking power settings, updates, internet access, and other paired devices have not restored the connection. Before removing the watch, note that Garmin says removing a device from Garmin Connect deletes its Garmin Pay wallets. You will need to recreate the wallet after adding the watch again.

  1. Remove the epix Pro from Garmin Connect and from the phone’s Bluetooth settings. Garmin notes that newer Garmin Connect versions on iOS may remove the phone’s Bluetooth entry automatically when you remove the device from the app.

  2. Restart the phone and watch.

  3. Add the watch again through Garmin Connect > Garmin Devices > Add Device, then put the watch into pairing mode and complete the app prompts.
