For the Casio guide covering modules 3229, 3421 and 3489, use the lower-left button to select a mode or setting field, the upper-left button to begin and finish setting, and the upper-right button to change a value. First check the module number on your watch’s case back: DW-5600 models may use different modules, so follow the matching Casio guide if yours is not covered here.
Casio’s DW-5600E-1V support page links to the guide for modules 3229/3421/3489. Casio describes the module number as the three- or four-digit number on the case back. The instructions below apply to that guide, not automatically to every DW-5600 variant.

How to set the time and date
- Press C, the lower-left button, until the watch is in Timekeeping Mode.
- Press A, the upper-left button. The seconds digits flash.
- Press C to move through the fields in this order: seconds, hour, minutes, year, month, then day.
- With a field flashing, press B, the upper-right button, to change it. For seconds, B resets the count to 00: if the previous count is 30–59, the minute advances by one; at 00–29, it stays unchanged. For other fields, B increases the value. Hold B to advance quickly.
- To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour display, press D, the lower-right button, while a field is flashing. If using 12-hour display, check the PM indicator when setting an afternoon time.
- Press A to finish and return to Timekeeping Mode. The weekday is calculated automatically from the date. If you leave the watch untouched for a few minutes while setting, it stops flashing and returns to Timekeeping Mode.
The module 3229 adjustment page gives the year range as 2000–2099. The weekday is derived from the date, so it is not a separate setting.

- Press C until Alarm Mode appears.
- Press A until the hour digits flash. The guide says entering alarm setting turns the alarm on.
- Press C to move through the alarm fields in this order: hour, minutes, month, then day.
- Press B to increase the flashing value; hold B to advance quickly. Leave month or day blank when needed to choose the recurrence pattern below.
- Press A to leave alarm setting. If no button is pressed for a few minutes while a value flashes, the watch returns to Alarm Mode automatically.
Choose when the alarm repeats
- Daily: Set the hour and minutes; leave month and day blank.
- On a particular date: Set the hour, minutes, month and day.
- Once in a selected month: Set the month and leave the day blank.
- Monthly on a selected day: Set the day and leave the month blank.
The guide uses a dash for a blank month and two dashes for a blank day. The alarm follows the watch’s selected 12- or 24-hour format. In 12-hour mode, confirm AM or PM so an afternoon alarm is not set for the morning.

Turn the alarm or hourly signal on or off
In Alarm Mode, press B to cycle through four states:
- Alarm and hourly signal off
- Alarm on, hourly signal off
- Alarm and hourly signal on
- Hourly signal on, alarm off
Use the corresponding on indicators on the display to confirm the state you selected. The hourly time signal beeps on the hour when enabled. When the alarm sounds, it runs for 20 seconds according to the guide; press any button to stop it.

What to check if the button sequence does not match
- Read the three- or four-digit module number engraved on the case back.
- Confirm that the Casio guide you are using lists that module. The instructions here are for modules 3229, 3421 and 3489.
- If the module differs, use its matching Casio guide rather than trying this sequence by trial and error.
- If the alarm appears to be set but does not sound at the intended time, check both its on indicator and the watch’s 12-hour AM/PM setting.
Accuracy note for the DW-5600E-1V
Casio’s product page for the DW-5600E-1V states accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. This is the manufacturer’s specification for that model, not an independent measurement or a guarantee for every DW-5600 variant. The page also lists a multi-function alarm, hourly time signal and 12/24-hour format.
