Start with clean water and a soft cloth: Casio’s guidance for resin bands is to wash them with water, then wipe them dry. Use a gentle touch. If the mark remains, it may be discoloration or color transfer rather than removable surface dirt, and Casio does not promise a way to reverse it.
Clean the strap gently with water and a soft cloth
- Rinse the resin strap with clean water. Casio recommends washing resin bands with water; it does not specify soaking the watch or using a stain-removal product. See Casio’s User Maintenance guidance for Module No. 3529.
- Wipe the surface gently. Use a clean, soft cloth. A soft microfiber cloth is one option, but Casio specifies a soft cloth rather than requiring microfiber. Do not scrub hard, especially over painted or printed details.
- Dry the strap. Wipe away the water with the cloth. Do not leave the band wet against clothing or other objects.
- Stop if the mark does not lift easily. Repeated forceful rubbing or trying an unverified cleaner can damage or discolor the resin. Why a light resin strap can stay stained
Casio warns that transparent and light-colored resin may discolor from sweat or dirt, prolonged exposure to hot, humid conditions, or contact with clothing and other items while wet. Long exposure to direct sunlight and accumulated dirt can also contribute to color change. A mark that remains after gentle washing may therefore be embedded color transfer or a change in the resin itself, not dirt sitting on the surface. Casio does not provide a guaranteed treatment for reversing those changes. Its Operating Precautions for Module No. 5715 also warn that sustained friction can affect painted components.

What not to use on the strap
Do not assume a cleaner is safe just because it is mild or commonly used on other watch materials. Casio’s neutral-detergent guidance applies to metal bands or resin bands with metal parts; for resin alone, it specifies water and a soft cloth. Casio cautions against contact with thinner, gasoline, solvents, oils or fats, and products containing ingredients that can damage resin. It also identifies products such as sunscreen and cosmetics as possible sources of damage or discoloration. See Casio Support’s timepiece care information.
Casio’s reviewed care instructions do not establish that bleach, acetone, alcohol, abrasive cleaning pads, whitening agents, or other stain-removal treatments are safe for your particular strap. Avoid them rather than risking a worse mark or material damage.

Prevent new marks and know when cleaning is not enough
- Dry the band after washing or getting it wet.
- Avoid leaving a wet strap pressed against dark or easily bleeding fabric, since color can transfer between resin and other items.
- Keep the band from prolonged direct sunlight and hot, humid conditions, and clean accumulated dirt gently.
- If the resin is cracked, stiff, sticky, or otherwise deteriorated, do not treat it as a stain. Casio advises replacing a band when deterioration symptoms appear. The correct replacement fit depends on the watch model or module number.
