The steps depend on the watch’s module number, and each Casio module has its own operation guide. Find the module number first, then follow only that guide. In the guides reviewed for this article, the general order is the same: Home City first, then daylight-saving time (DST), then time and date, then the 12- or 24-hour display. The button names and menu paths differ from module to module.
Find your module number before pressing any buttons
Casio’s operation guides are organized by module number, and the number is the only reliable way to match a watch to the right steps. Check the watch’s packaging or paperwork for it. Then search Casio’s support site for that exact number. If you have a different module, do not borrow the steps from this article.

Set the Home City first
Home City gives the watch its local-time reference, so it is the first setting to change. The 3260/3280 guide tells users to select Home City before changing any other setting, and the 3537 guide likewise says to configure Home City before manual date and time adjustment. In the 3260/3280 guide, the city selection can also affect World Time and signal-related options, so choosing it later can leave those values inconsistent.
Set daylight-saving time
Some modules offer three DST options: automatic, on, and off. Do not assume the setting is correct because the time looks right. Automatic DST can be limited by the selected Home City or by whether the watch supports signal reception, so confirm the setting in your module’s guide. Where a manual setting is offered, the guide describes it in the same settings flow as the Home City.

Adjust the time and date by module
The adjustment controls differ enough that each module needs its own steps. The three examples below cover the modules whose guides describe a full procedure. Treat them as examples of how each interface works, not as steps for your watch.
Module 3260/3280: flashing fields
- Enter Timekeeping Mode.
- Hold the setting button until the setting screen appears.
- Select the Home City.
- Open the DST setting and set it.
- Move through the settings until the time or date field you want flashes.
- Change the flashing value with the designated buttons.
- Exit the setting screen.
The guide notes that the setting screen exits on its own after roughly two or three minutes without input. If that happens, reopen the screen and continue from the field you were editing.

Module 3537: designated buttons and manual fallback
- Enter Timekeeping Mode.
- Hold the designated button until the city code flashes.
- Use the designated controls to choose the Home City.
- Select the summer-time (DST) setting.
Module 3537 is designed to set the time through signal reception. Its manual procedure is the fallback, and the guide states it plainly:
“If, for some reason, you cannot use time signal reception to adjust the current time setting, you can adjust date, time, and Home City settings manually using watch button operations.”

Module 3481: menu navigation
Module 3481 does not use flashing fields. Its guide works through a settings menu:
- Home City: open the Home Time and City menu and select the city.
- Time and date: open Time Adjustment, select Manual, then move through the time and date values.
- Time format: the guide covers the 12/24-hour procedure separately.
If your watch is a 3481 module, expect to navigate menus rather than hold buttons until a field flashes.

Choose the 12- or 24-hour display
Several reviewed modules offer a choice between 12-hour and 24-hour display, but the path to change it is different in each guide. In 12-hour mode, some manuals show a PM indicator, so check the display after changing the format. The 3459/3461 guide gives this as a separate procedure from Home City and DST, and the 3481 guide covers it in its time format section.
Basic functions: what the modes do
The Module 5733 mode overview describes four modes. Its guide does not give the button steps for setting alarms, timers or the stopwatch, so use the guide for your exact module when you need those.
- Timekeeping: the main hands show local time.
- Stopwatch: the other hands indicate elapsed stopwatch time.
- Timer: the other hands indicate the countdown time.
- Alarm: the other hands indicate the alarm time.
Where the watch offers an automatic time signal or a phone connection, follow the procedure in your module’s guide for that feature. The guides reviewed for this article describe different adjustment methods for different features, and the steps above do not transfer between them.
