To set a Casio digital watch correctly, first find the operating instruction (module) number printed on its case back, then follow the matching Casio manual. Button sequences differ by module, so there is no reliable universal combination. Casio’s time-adjustment guidance directs owners to identify the number and use the corresponding instructions.
Find your watch’s module number and manual
- Turn the watch over. Look on the case back for the operating instruction or module number.
- Open the matching Casio manual. Use Casio’s time-adjustment page to locate the manual for that number, then find its time and date adjustment section.
- Follow the manual’s button labels and sequence. The diagrams and text identify which button enters setting mode, selects a field, changes its value, and completes the adjustment.
For example, module 3529 uses A to enter setting mode, C to move between fields, and D to change most values. Module 5759 instead uses A to enter, B to move through settings, and C to change most flashing values. Those are examples, not instructions for every Casio watch.

Set the time and date using your module’s sequence
Many Casio manuals use a flashing display to show which setting is selected. Once the correct field flashes, use the designated button to change it, then move to the next field as directed. Your manual determines the exact buttons, order, and how to finish.

If the displayed time is still wrong
The time is off by an hour
Check whether your module has a daylight saving time (DST) or summer-time setting, and whether it asks you to choose a Home City. These options appear in the procedures for modules 5565 and 5628, but are model-dependent. Confirm the appropriate setting in your manual before changing it.
The watch has analog hands as well as a digital display
Some combination analog-digital models require a separate hand-setting step. The manuals for modules 5565 and 5628 distinguish analog adjustment from digital time and date setting; the 5628 manual specifically directs owners to adjust the hands after changing the digital time and date. Use the hand-adjustment section for your module.

Setting mode closes before you finish
The 3529 and 5759 manuals say their setting modes exit automatically after about two or three minutes without operation. This timeout is documented for those modules only. If your watch returns to normal display, re-enter setting mode using your manual’s procedure and complete the fields without a long pause.

Why the exact Casio manual matters
Even watches from the same brand can differ in how setting mode starts, which button selects a field, which button changes its value, and how the adjustment is confirmed. Some include DST, Home City, or 12/24-hour settings; analog-digital models may add a separate hand adjustment. Other modules with additional functions also have distinct manual-setting procedures—for example, the manuals for 3564 and 3567 describe model-specific adjustment methods when a phone connection is unavailable.
