There is no single button sequence for every model: digital, analog-digital, and connected watches can use different controls and steps.
How do I find the right G-SHOCK instructions?
- Find the module number. Check the case back or the watch’s paperwork.
- Open the Casio operation guide for that module. Match the number exactly; procedures from another module may not work on your watch.
- Identify the watch’s controls. Depending on the model, setting may involve buttons, a crown, or on-watch menus. Analog-digital watches may also need a separate hand adjustment.
The examples below show why matching the module matters. They are not interchangeable instructions.

How do I set the time on a digital G-SHOCK?
Example: module 3529
Casio’s module 3529 operation guide gives this procedure:
- Enter Timekeeping Mode and press A. The seconds should flash.
- Press C until the setting you want to change flashes.
- Press D to change the flashing value.
- Press A to finish.
If you press D while the seconds are flashing, they reset to 00. On module 3529, if the seconds were 30–59, resetting them also advances the minutes by one.

Other modules use different button sequences
Do not use the 3529 sequence as a universal shortcut. For example, Casio’s module 3486 guide says to hold A for at least two seconds until SET stops flashing, use C to select a setting, change it with D or E, and press A to exit. The 5382/5465/5508 guide instead starts in Timekeeping Mode: hold A until ADJ appears, use C to move through settings, change values with D and/or B, then press A to exit.
How do I change the date on a G-SHOCK?
Use the date-setting procedure for your module, not a sequence borrowed from another watch. On module 3529, the date is one of the settings you can reach by pressing C while a setting flashes; press D to change the selected value, then A to complete the adjustment. Consult the module 3529 guide for its full setting order.

Some analog-digital models use a different method. On module 5513, pull the crown to the second click to set the hour and minute. Press A to enter month/day adjustment, use B and the crown to change the month and day, then continue through the year digits. Push the crown in on a time signal. The day of the week is calculated from the year, month, and day settings. See Casio’s module 5513 guide for the complete sequence.

Whether the hands follow a digital time change depends on the module. Casio says that on modules 5382/5465/5508, changing the digital time also changes the analog time setting. For module 5606, the guide says to adjust the analog hands so they match after changing the digital time and date. Follow the hand-setting instructions in the module 5606 guide if they do not match; do not assume every analog-digital G-SHOCK synchronizes its hands automatically.

Why is the displayed time still wrong?
Check Home City or time-zone settings
If the watch is off by a whole time zone, check its Home City or time-zone setting before repeatedly changing the displayed time. For module 5606, Casio says the Home City works with UTC offsets to calculate World Time. The module 5606 guide covers its Home City setting.
Check daylight saving or summer-time settings
A daylight-saving or summer-time setting can also affect the displayed time. Modules 5606 and 3554 include such settings; module 3554 has menu-based Home City and summer-time controls. Its guide also describes manual time and date adjustment when phone communication or GPS reception is unavailable. See Casio’s module 3554 guide for the relevant menu paths.

Choose 12-hour or 24-hour display if needed
Display format changes how the time is shown, not the underlying time. The 5382/5465/5508 guide includes a 12-hour or 24-hour format setting in the timekeeping settings.
