On the Mondaine Doppio Solar covered by the GGM.D087 manual, use crown position 2 to change the date and position 3 to set the time. How do I change the date on my Mondaine watch?
- Pull the crown to position 2. Position 1 is the crown’s normal resting position; position 2 is for date adjustment.
- Turn the crown clockwise until the required date appears. The watch continues running while you adjust the date.
- Push the crown back to position 1 to finish.
The GGM.D087 manual says the date does not update automatically at midnight. To move the calendar forward, set the date manually for the following day.
How do I set the time on a Mondaine Doppio Solar?
- Pull the crown to position 3. This is the time-setting position, and the watch stops while the crown is there.
- Turn the crown until the hands show the current time.
- Push the crown back to position 1 to resume timekeeping.
What if the watch has stopped?
The Doppio Solar’s cells sit beneath the dial and charge its rechargeable cell from sunlight or artificial light. Mondaine recommends regular direct sunlight for the quickest charging. The GGM.D087 manual says a fully charged battery can power the watch for approximately eight months without additional light; this is a manufacturer specification, not an independent test.

The manual’s approximate charging times vary by light source. “Restart” means reaching enough charge for a discharged movement to start running; “day charge” means enough charge for one day of operation. The times below are from Mondaine/Ronda’s edition 06/25 and are not guarantees; actual charging depends on the light source.

The manual also states that two minutes of sunlight can restart a fully discharged movement, after which it can run for one day. Treat all charging figures as approximate. If the watch still will not run after exposure to light, consult Mondaine or a watch service professional.
