First check whether your Panerai Luminor Destro has a date display and identify its PAM reference: “Destro” describes the left-side crown-protecting bridge, not a specific movement or setting procedure. For Luminor models covered by Panerai’s general instructions, open the crown-protecting lever, pull the crown to the second click to set the time, then return the crown and close the lever. Set a date only if your exact model has one and its manual confirms how.
Identify your reference and whether it has a date
Look for the PAM reference and calibre, then check the dial for a date window. The Destro configuration places the crown-protecting bridge on the left side of the watch, but that description does not identify one calibre or guarantee a date display. Panerai’s official product pages list different hand-wound movements for two current examples, and neither lists a date function:

Both references are listed as 44 mm. These are model-specific examples, not specifications for every Luminor Destro. If your dial has no date window, there is no date to set on that watch.
Set the time
Panerai’s general Luminor instructions describe the following sequence. Use the manual for your exact PAM reference if its crown positions or controls differ.

- Open the crown-protecting lever. Release the bridge that protects the winding crown.
- Pull the crown to the second click.
- Turn the crown to set the hands to the correct time.
- Return the crown to its initial position and close the lever.

Panerai’s separate date-setting instructions are explicitly for “some models only.” They describe pulling the crown to the first click and moving the hour hand in one-hour steps until the desired date appears. The date may change gradually around midnight. The cited instructions do not establish that this method applies to every Luminor Destro, so do not use it unless the manual for your reference confirms it.

Consult Panerai’s date-setting instructions alongside the manual for your own watch. If the dial, crown positions or instructions do not match, stop rather than guessing; Panerai’s model pages provide an instruction download for their respective watches.
